Let's say we add Kristian Fulton...will this class be better than the 2014 class?

This class is great with or without Fulton...

With that being said I want him and Mullen bad

It's pretty comparable. Both classes were so loaded.

I think this class is deeper than that one will be more top loaded. Good combo together

In some ways. If we dont get a qb in this class, id say 2014 is better

No way... This class will be way better.

Clifton Garrett is probably the biggest bust I've ever seen

I remember hearing in 2014 that the 2016 Louisiana class was to be equally impressive. That has definitely proved to be true.

Well, looking objectively, using 247Sport's Ranking metrics...

Our current 2016 class has 286.57 points

The complete 2014 class had 299.30 points.

With 247's class calculator:
If we close with Fulton, Mullen, Taylor, Christmas-Giles, and Scott, we'd have a score of 299.48.

So yes, OBJECTIVELY, we'd have a better class than the 2014 season, but only by a hair.

ETA: Although, it may be deceiving because I think Offensive recruits get more excitement than defensive recruits. We'll have a heavier focus on the defensive side of the ball this year, while 2014 was mostly offensive stars.

Fournette was worth a lot of points as he should be...

I don't know why this class feels so much better...it just does. Maybe because the front seven coming in is flat scary. And exactly what need.

This class feels better because we know how it compliments the 2014 and 2015 classes. You're looking at depth at LB,DL, and OL. These have been our weak areas. With this recruiting class we'll have talent, depth, and a complete football team. That's exciting potential having 3 straight top 5 classes.

That's impressive if your heard in2014 that 2016 was that impressive.

Were they that highly touted at the time or did they just pan out exceptionally well?

I realize recruiting classes are judged at the time on potential, and that this is what this thread is exploring. But based on results, our 2015 class was far better than our 2014 class, which was quite good.

The first six guys listed in 2015 all look like All Americans. They are:

Kevin Toliver
Tyron Johnson
Maea Teuhema
Derrius Guice
Donte Jackson
Arden Key

That is followed by a slew of guys who either look like future studs, or are yet to be determined. They include:

Toby Weathersby
Chidi
Brossette
Ducre
Jazz
Adrian Magee
Moreau
Isaiah Washington
Bry'Keithon Mouton
McMillan
George Brown
Xavier Lewis

Only a couple of busts

We needed DL and LB depth in the 2014 class but we didn't sign enough bodies or talent. The front 7 recruits are MUCH better with this class.
