Does anyone know who previously had the record? I'm curious how that class turned out.

And it appears a strong chance it could be broken.

Texas had 19 in top 300 in 2002, and 16 in top 200 according to 247

I hope we get as many as possible because we have to win it on the field. We won't get the extra help somebody else in our conference gets.

That record won't last much longer.

Reading over how ESPN determines their class rankings, they don't only go by a mathematical formula... they also a "human element" to their class rankings.

quote:

While looking at commits and player rankings are key, there is a human element to the game of football and there is also a human element to the class rankings as well. In addition to utilizing a formula, we also place an important emphasis on roster examination as well. After looking at the rankings of players picked up, we also examine how a program addressed its needs, recruited in advance of early NFL departures and if it brought in players whose strengths found during film study fit the team's schemes and philosophies.

Predictions on how the "human element" affects (effects? I'm never sure...) LSU's final class ranking?

Well. Be reasonable. If we whiff at QB, the human element SHOULD come into play

Yep. I think there's no doubt we get Fulton, and maybe Mullen, too.

ETA: Heck, we might blow this record out of the water with 22 or 23 top 300 recruits.
