You often only have 1 or 2 years of actually contributing with a high school player.

This staff is in survival mode. They have holes to fill now.

Now, it’s their fault for that situation, but facts are facts.

They will be signing 2-3 grad transfers this year.

We must have watched 2 different guys... The Shanahan I saw couldn’t zone to backer to save his life, and he was 3 yards in the backfield more times than not. But... he did make all the right calls!

Could you comment on the development of guys like Xavier Hill, Marlon Martinez, Marcus Dumervil, Kardell Thomas, and Anthony Bradford?

Agree.
The 1st and goal in South Carolina game was glaring. When the nose kept jumping. He was barely early and he was destroying Harvard. He was so much slower, he never actually got a snap to the QB. Add to it, he got flipped back everytime.

This class is ruined if they have to go bargain bin shopping for OL...again to get guys who are overmatched in the SEC again...no more fricking Harvard/Stanford Ivy League lineman.

I've never seen a national championship school lose so much momentum so quickly. Tired of this fricked up roster management. We won't even field the max limit of players next year. Stop sending players packing when you can't even fill your class up either by "processing" them.

But one thing I can tell you for sure- this lack of Oline recruiting will bite him in the arse. You can’t do shite on offense if you get dominated on the line.

Maybe we get a generational QB like Joe who can work with no protection or maybe we’re down 48-3 vs Auburn in the 3rd quarter again and the coaching staff isn’t allowed back on the plane.

We had the highest ranked oline in cfb last year, not sure how you can say we had no protection

A few of the guys are still here and they were bad this season. I think it just proved if anything, you had a GOAT QB who processed information quickly and got rid of the ball quick. When you have a QB like that it will make any average Oline look good. They had good chemistry last year but most of that success was Burrow dumping the ball quick with the right reads. They were good run blocking but Clyde made a lot happen himself too.

Dline got a lot of penetration on them in pass situations we just lucked out Burrow didn't crack his ribs sooner than the NC game.

Much of that was our QB could not call the protection schemes. Or he could only call very simplified protection schemes.

Anyway. Our Oline and line of scrimmage problems go,back at least seven years.

I guess we are concluding Thomas and Bradford are busts. I don’t think that is the case. And we have to swing for the fences to get the 5 stars. Bama is always going to be there for five stars. We cannot go,early for three stars. And Louisiana has few lineman Most years.

But of course. The guy who took over a really bad roster. And built a championship team and coaching staff is an idiot and that all just magically happened. What a pile of crap

That "average Oline" you speak about from last year have 3 guys on NFL rosters with 2 of them starting. A 4th,Magee lasted in camp late with the Saints before being waived and the 5th starter, Declus, is still here. I think thats a little better than average.

They were good, not as great as they were billed. I think they were pretty average in pass blocking. Burrow had to do a lot of magic avoiding sacks or just releasing the ball quickly. They were better blocking in the run game but a big part of that was the back end was so worried about the pass from LSU nobody was going to stop that offense last year. Clyde and Burrow were the perfect combo of unstoppable. Pick your poison basically.

If anything, it's time to can Cregg. He has done nothing but shite the bed in building lines and recruiting up to what they should be. LSU got super lucky last season with that line. We didn't have good depth last year either we just got lucky to avoid injuries.

Thats actually not true

That was a hell of an o line last year

They protected very well
Go back and watch the bama game

You are just remembering
the big plays where burrow escaped.

you would think they would be all in regardless of Leigh. We need dudes there and Leigh will just be a freshman next year anyways, more than likely wont be ready to really contribute.
