Anyone know if Magnolia Ridge subdivision across from neighborhood Walmart on Causeway approach has power or if it's flooded? Pics appreciated.

Spoke with my dad a few mins ago. They live in Eden Isles on Moonraker. They can't get out and the water has stopped rising. He expects the water from Mandeville to reenter the lake and have a second surge.

He thinks water will not enter the house, since it needs to rise about another 6-8 feet. I hope he's right. They are stuck there for the time being. God bless.

I understand. I really thought they got something in Isadore, Lili, and Katrina.

I know when I moved here in 2000 and was looking at houses, I was worried that flooding in downtown Madisonville and all along hwy 22 was very likely as nothing is elevated and the lake pontchartrain shore is just south of there and not leveed.

I guess i'd be surprised if its never had 3-4 feet of water before.

For those interested, I lost power overnight in Covington (around downtown) and it has been restored.

It is high as shite it covington so must be as high or higher.

For those on (or in) the water, please keep posting if it's moving out or not. I trust eye-witness accounts more than slow to be posted gauge readings. My neighbor said the water is up to the doorknob, but my boat might not be turned into a surfboard if it quits rising NOW.

Over a foot and a half higher than the previous high water mark.

ETA: MUCH higher than Katrina. In fact, it was Rita a week later that blitzed us, with most of Katrina's water still bottled up.
