My prayers are with all of you right now, especially those in Laplace, Lower Jefferson, and Placquemines, those seem to be the hardest hit areas so far, at least from what I have heard.

I kept telling my friends that I wish Isaac had come over here and just absolutely destroyed us rather than go to Louisiana and Mississippi. I meant it just for this very reason.

Stay safe everyone.

Apparently the east to west winds drove water from Pontchartrain over. I didn't realize how close my sister was to the lake until I looked at a map (They are in Belle Terre).

They are ok, water at garage slab level. But plenty of people were in real trouble.

985-359-8647

That's the number to call if you know anyone stranded in LaPlace. Or you can give me their names and address and I'll pass along the info.

St Charles parish has an EOC. If I were trapped I would call 985-783-5050 even if I were in St John

Parents in st Andrews estates, about an hour and a half ago they said the water had 18 inches or so to go before it reaches the house, and their house is a little higher than most

Had zero issues with Katrina or Gustav with regards to flooding. This was not expected.

Yes, but I remember after Katrina when they were doing the studies it came out that a storm with this path would push water up into laplazz

I am off of St. Andrews near Doral/Augusta. We had no issues with any water until a few hours ago. shite is coming up fast. I moved my family and valuables to the upstairs bedrooms. Moved the generator to our balcony for lights and such. I have a bad feeling that we're going to get water on the first floor and vehicles in the driveway.

Angle the storm came in from pushed the water to the west of the lake

As if Katrina wasn't bad enough, just imagine if it had taken the track into LA that Isaac did. Extremely frightening

I will update if I hear something. But I am not hearing anything at all. Just unreal flooding. Everywhere. Riverlands was never supposed to flood unless we got the "one".

Hopefully the wind out the south will move some of that water out of there. I know it's too late for many places, but with all the rain they need to get as much water out as possible.

I am just worried about my dogs...I know the flood water won't reach them because the water would have to rise about another 12 or so feet to even reach the 2nd floor

But I don't want them to be stranded there for too long

This is pretty much "The One" considering I bet they move it up officially to a cat 2, with the worst path possible, coupled with moving soooooo slow and pounding the water to the back of the lake

im sorry to hear about your entire week Meat

My boss liveso n River Oaks Drive in LaPlace ... been there twice for a meeting. Super nice neighborhood. Is this I assume in River Oaks subdivision? I remember going by a golf course.

She and her hubby evacuated and I hate to text to see if she's ok if she doesn't know!
