Just running sprinklers every day. I’m not cutting and when I do this week I’ll raise my HOC from 5/8 to probably a little over an inch. I have some dove weed but rally nothing else to worry about. I’m nervous to spray anything. I’m worried about burning it too bad. What about fertilizer? May just skip the last one I wanted to do a couple weeks ago. Any other tips to keep it looking good the next few weeks.

You shouldn't have to water every day. How much water are you putting down each time? I'm not ferting my lawn. I'm just spraying it with liquid iron and praying for rain.

That overwatering pattern could lead to fungus and other issue later. I feel your dry spell pain though.

If I dont water daily, mine goes brown and crispy. Do you just let it go brown?

I water 30 minutes per zone on my pop ups and 45 minutes on my rotors. I water twice per week. I spray my lawn with baby shampoo a couple times a month during dry spells. Everyone is going to have hot spots.

I'm watering every 2-3 days once a dry patch starts to show up.

ronk - if one opts to not water a lawn will it die or bounce back after rains?

For anyone interested this LINK will give you an idea of how bad the ground is for any plants

Ok, I am not watering anywhere near that much per zone, should I be watering more and less frequently for root develpment or such?

It needs enough water to keep the crown alive. Same as in winter. It can brown as shite as long as that crown survives.

Watering should be deep and infrequent to encourage the root to grow deeper. If you runoff is a problem when you run your sprinklers for 30-45 then you can run cycles. Set up program A for 15 minutes and program B for 15 minutes.

I don’t over water. Probably about 45-1hour every other day. I run it everyday but on different areas. When I do water it’s dry in about an hour.

Is letting it grow a bit protecting it or am I over thinking.

Also praying for rain. I can’t tell you the last time it rained. Solid 3 weeks. Even then the small rains we got didn’t do much. I watched a big thunderstorm just go completely around my house last week. So close you could smell it

I add water to my pool just about every other day.

Just looked at the 5 day and it looks the same. 100+ with 7% chance of rain

3 weeks? You’re lucky. Last time I got rain was July 16th. It was .32 inches. I’ve had 1.25 inches of rain since may 31st.

Ronk, I’m just over 4 weeks in since hydroseeding Bermuda, and I’ve mowed 4 times.

I’m currently watering twice a day, but would now be a good time to water every other day?

Yes, if you’ve mowed that many times you’re good

How much baby shampoo do you apply each time, and what’s your method of application if you don’t mind me asking?

My soil has some heavy clay areas still that water just beads on. I think my whole yard could benefit though.

I’m in Texas and haven’t had rain since 2nd week of May. Watering 40 minutes per station everyday and grass is still dying. Not watering on Saturday. I have centipede and will probably lose 80%.

This comment will summon ronk back to the thread, he never misses an opportunity to shite on centipede lol. "The heat did you a favor by killing your centipede. Now you can sod over with literally any other turfgrass and be happy."

Well think about it. He is losing 80% of his lawn. Why do I not like centipede well because it's not raining and his lawn is dead.

I use 10 squirts in a miracle gro hose end sprayer. There is another product called Hydretain. It might work better than baby shampoo but it's $70 vs $6.
