I wouldn't want black windows of either vinyl or alum. You already have enough heat gain through windows in the summer. Last thing you need is black frames getting searing hot from the sun.

Well the plans are in color and show black. I'm not trying to screw anyone over or get something for free, just trying to find a solution. Thank you for your answer.

I assumed they had been ordered. Did you look at the website and see what the price difference is? If he is telling you the truth then your only recourse is to find out who screwed up. Either way he still may cut you some slack.

From my understanding I was quoted at 1 grade over builder's grade and now I'm going with something that is closer to premium, if I were to go with these black windows.

Black vinyl is an up charge for most manufacturers. What brand did he quote? Are they clad or vinyl?

He’s not talking about upgrading the quality of the window. Just the color.

I understand what you're saying. But this guy only sells one or two brands. I'm wondering if there are other brands that sell black windows that aren't premium grade.
