prettiest would be to buy or just go drag a sunken log out of the swamp and have it cut down to the size you need

whatever the water does to them, those things are beautiful

They do have a great selection to choose from, but none of it is cheap. Especially in larger dimensional lumber suitable for a mantel.

If you don't mind the ride, Jones & Jones Cypress on Hwy. 1 near Avoylles Parish deals in all forms of cypress and do their own milling and kiln drying. I've done business with them several times over the years and their prices are very reasonable.

ETA: Phone number for Jones & Jones is 318-359-8061

Southern Arch in Belle Chase or Custom Wood Products in BR will be the cheapest.

Custom Wood Products will cut to you side and only charge you for that board foot.

I’ve heard good things about the place in Ponchy but never had a need to go.

Avoid the Corbel. Overpriced and mediocre selection.

Did you find a piece? I have one piece of Live Oak. It's 4" thick and around 18-20" wide and around 6' long. Both sides are live edge. I could part with it for $250. Oh, I can custom cut it to the size you need. Was going to use it in my house.
