I have a reminder that went off today for “winter weed cocktail (atrazine + weed free zone combo)”
Is that correct and do I put down now?
If so, how much?

I had great luck with spraying hose end Image for stickers. I wanted a blanket application rather than a spot spray.

blanket app would work better for me also. How and what is that you did?

The “Winter Weed Cocktail” is a blanket application.

I don’t have the AI stuff for other brands or verification, but looking at Clegg’s info it’s 1 oz of WFZ and 8.6 oz of Hi-Yield Atrazine, mixed with 1 Gal of water (adjust as needed based on spray volume) applied over 1000 sqft.

Do you presently have winter weeds in the lawn that need post-emergent herbicide treatment? As stated by Jaspermac, now would be the time to be looking carefully for lawn burweed (stickerweed) in the lawn - they look like little parsley plants - and they are much easier to control when young/small and before stickers (seeds) form. This is the atrazine + weed free zone mixture

Image is the name of the product. Found at any big box store, just make sure you get the one suited for your grass

Picked a few of these out of my lawn this weekend. Seems like the season has begun!

We’ve been using Scott’s Turf Builder Triple Action for several years now with great results. Takes care of the ants for the whole summer too.

Those were my problem last year. Between pulling and Image, I think I have them licked.

How long do I have to put down the application? Does it have to be February or can I wait until March?
