I know this is and odd and vague question but I’ve heard people talk about a fertilizer that is incredible for greening up your grass but stinks really bad. Thanks in advance.

Refer to the link. The good news is that given that it is organic and slow release N, it would be really hard to screw up...

It is pretty much impossible to burn your grass with it.

However, it is very expensive for the amount of nitrogen that you get. If you are trying to thicken up your lawn, I would use something else. If you are just greening up, it is a good product.

What do you suggest to thicken up your lawn? I have some really bare spots in my yard. I have gotten rid of the weeds, now I need it to run and thicken up. I have St Augustine.

It’s an add on to your primary nitrogen fertilizer, not a replacement.

Use something like a 30-0-10 on St Aug. I’m throwing some down in about 2.5 weeks

I am an amateur and having only used Scotts Turf builder as a fertilizer in the past and had good results. How does this compare?

Shreveport is always out of Milogranite. For the past two or three years, I have tried to get some and Homedepot is always out. I can't find it anywhere else either. I'm thinking one of or some of the Pro crews buy it all up here.

If you have had good success why not keep using it?

What type of grass to you have? You reside in Savannah? If so, you have a Site One Landscape Supply near you where you can buy LESCO lawn fertilizer at very good pricing. I use the LESCO 24-2-11.

I have heard all the rave reviews of it and want to try something different. I have a combination of St Augustine and centipede.

Apply milo at double the bag rate once a month. You’ll have a blue green lawn. Looks great and a very easy product to use.

Do you usually water it in after applying?

You don’t have to and it won’t stain your concrete. I usually start the year with some sort of regular fertilizer and then pile that stuff on through the year. Good in the gardens too. Makes the worm population explode which is good for the soil.

I have a centipede/st aug mix. I put down Ferti-lome 15-0-15 already at the suggested rate. Would I benefit from this as well? Would I need to wait weeks before using it?
