54” Hustler zero turn

Getting super uneven cut. Changed out tire that was losing air, but problem still exists.

Deck is level

Probably need new blade? TIA

-Sharpen blades
-check blade balance by placing on a nail/screw blade should be level at rest
-check blade bolt torque to ensure a blade isn’t slipping
-make sure blades are aligned 45 deg. of one another at rest,
-ensure even tire pressure,
-make sure blades aren’t installed upside down (bevel faces up, towards deck not ground)

all I got, keep us posted

My Gravely had chains suspending the deck. One of the links got turned sideways and caused uneven cutting.

Any curvature to land you're cutting?

Lots of good suggestions so far. Verify the deck is set level and not jammed up on the hangers.

My Gravely just had issues with poor cut quality, along with abnormal vibrations, and it was a bad spindle. The blade was tight but there was a fair amount of movement in the blade.

Also… I noticed today a small sliver of metal in the concrete… almost like the bottom part of the plastic top of a soft drink bottle (the part that stays on , when you break the seal and twist)

Not sure if that’s a thing.

Actual deck is level, per my torpedo level

Very good possibility….

Probably going to have to bring it to a shop. I don’t have a lift to look under it.

Sitting it up on back tires probably not good for motor. Correct?

You most likely have a spindle going out or out

that’s how you change the blades. Pick up the front frame with a chain fall or come along with the rear tires chocked and rock it back

A 2 foot level would work better with it being a 54” deck. More than likely a dull or bent blade. I just went through this with mine

What about the front tires? One if those with low pressure will do it.

Mine just started cutting uneven. It was just after running over a wide cypress root. Will ride this season out and then send it to a shop.

Someone mentioned spindles. If you scrape your deck to clean and fool around cleaning that area it will throw your blade uneven.
Keep underdecks clean and be sure there is enough air under there for the blade system to cut cleanly.
Hitting roots and other obstacles will obviously mess it up.
