Under counter ice machine repair (not in home).

Hello men,
I am looking for a place in Baton Rouge to bring an under counter ice maker and have it FIXED.
I've had 3 guys come to the house, mess around with it, and get nowhere.
Is there a savant in town that is some kind of prodigy with these things?
I hate to buy a new one just because nobody can figure out what's wrong with this one.

What is it doing?
Is it not cooling the plate? Is the compressor coming on?
Since 3 people looked at it I assume it's not the pump or the cutting grid as those are easy fixes.
But a sealed system repair on these is a nightmare. If the compressor or valve is bad your looking at a $1200 repair. I work on these a lot but I don't like doing sealed system repairs.
Just too much headache. Even at $1200 I'm making less than I would make for a much easier job. I think that's why many techs are passing the buck they know that these machines are really hard to do sealed repairs on.
But if it IS cooling and just not producing then it's an easy fix. Or if it's not cooling and the compressor is cold it just needs a relay or a board. But I assume the techs that came would have caught this.
What brand is it? I just assume Kitchenaid/GE/Whirlpool/kenmore because they are the same.
Thor or Hoshizaki are harder to get parts for but can be simpler to diagnose.

Try this guy. I've never used him, but he has come highly recommended by others in Ascension Parish.

Thanks. Just what I was looking for.

Kitchenaid.
It is cooling but making a very thin ice sheet that melts quickly.

I might give him a call too and see if he’s interested.
I got three undercounter machines that aren’t working. One older Hoshizaki and 2 Euhomy that are < 1 year old (1 brand new that was leaking from delivery). Would love to recoup some expense of the replacement Hoshizaki and get rid of the junk taking up space.

I spoke with him once, and he was very knowledgable. I simply didn't follow up on repairing my ice maker, and I should have. My issue at the time was that I didn't have a truck to haul my ice maker to him (but now I do -- and still haven't done it.
It's a Hoshizaki Ice Maker.

Ok pumps and grid likely working could be sealed system. Evap plates can leak. That's why guy above replaced them in the refurbished ones.
Could possibly be the circulation pump with thin ice but I assume with other techs looking at it it has to be something complicated.
This guy says free estimate go to him. That's great price. Must myself included charge a base fee to touch anything. Free estimates are unheard of in appliance repair. Nothing to lose.

The problem with those Hoshizaki under counter units especially the nugget makers is that they are a $2k machine with $3k worth of parts. They can get expensive to repair very quickly.

It’s the circulating pump. They go out quickly.

Wish I could offer a fix it person for ya…I understand your problem immensely. I finally figured out after two in home under-counter ice machines went out and quickly realized they were extremely expensive to fix that I just didn’t need it. Now I understand if you you have a large number of people in a house how these would be extremely attractive to have. Ours was when kids were in and out. Once it got down to just two of us it made no sense. Frankly I just buy extra bags of ice when I know I will have a large crew at the house and thrown them in the freezer. And if I ever decide I must absolutely have an ice machine in the house I have seen some really good countertop models that produce really well. Thought is to park that thing out of the way and use when it is called upon.
Good luck on repairs and hope you find one that last much longer than our did.

The answer is to get a machine that holds ice. The clear ice makers are the issue. None of them last.
