Torpedo Grass?

Is this torpedo? It’s contained to about a 10x10 area right now. What’s my best option to get rid of it?

Looks like common bermuda, but I'm not positive.
Are the stolons spreading horizontally on the surface and tacking down roots? If so, it's bermuda.
This appears to be happening in places. You might just need to mow it low.
On second thought, bermuda stolons would be have a red/purple color to them.

I’ll have to look later but they are thick stalons. Don’t think they’re rooting. They are spreading horizontally though.

that is 100000% torpedo grass. Nuke that area with roundup as soon as possible. I didn't do it quick enough and it has taken over the right front side of my yard. a real PITA
Good luck
ETA: it's only showing in a 10x10 area but the rhizomes are probably to a 15x15 or so area. Nuke what you see and check everyday and nuke what else comes up

Yep. It will be an ongoing battle. You can also use Target 6 on it as well.

Not for long.

4 inch thick cement slab with no joints. Get a backhoe and remove it from a 15 mile radius of you. Sell the house.

Do I need to get the 41 pct glysphate from tractor supply or just regular roundup

Sad but true. I've been battling some that has crept over from my neighbors yard for at least 1 year now. Just have to constantly stay on top of it to keep it from taking over on my property.

Don't even dilute it. Spray it at full concentration.

Most regular "roundup" from big box stores do not even contain glysophate as the active ingredient anymore.
Snag some RoundUp Pro MAX from domyown.com - I believe it is 48% glysophate. You could also use some Target 6.

Nurture it, let it blossom, and enjoy your new indestructible torpedo grass lawn?
During Ida we had a tree get uprooted and have bene battling torpedo grass since. We had our entire front lawn resodded and have not seen it there, but it has wreaked havoc in the garden. Have been trying to spot treat as we see it, and it appears to be contained to a small section

I've been burning mine with a torch to better expose the runners.
I am planning on this being a summer long effort.

Ordered Roundup Pro Max. Will try the torch method as well.
Also saw a solution for St Aug in the other thread. Maybe it will work on centipede. Will try that after this first nuke goes off.

I use this in centipede:
Solitaire Herbicide
It’s ridiculously expensive and only controls the torpedo grass. I’m transitioning to Zoysia so I can use full strength quinclorac. It is a slow process.

Yes that is torpedo. Definitely nuke that entire area and I would do an extra foot or two around it for good measure.
I’m not sure if you’re supposed to do this or not, but I would nuke it again after a week then monitor for a month to make sure you got it all. Then re-sod.

We hit it with regular roundup. Roundup pro max comes in next week. Will unload on it again and wait.

I may have my mom pay my son and a couple of friends to dig the area out and backfill. Not sure what to do with the dirt though.

Put it in big garbage bags and throw the bags in the trash cans
I roundup and dig it out. You will be amazed how far it spreads out when you dig

Another problem is she is getting her yard resodded at the end of next week. She said they’re planning on taking care of it. The hard part of digging it out may take care of itself.
However that doesn’t leave much time for the roundup pro max to set in, depending on how soon next week it arrives (shipped today, 2-5 day shipping rate).
She doesn’t want to wait until the heat of summer to resod either.
