My wife does little to no home maintenance type projects, except she does ALL the painting.
I'm good with this arrangement.
I hate painting.

I painted the entire exterior of a historic 3 story home for a summer in college. took me all summer and i hired 2 helpers. i probably made $10k (huge money at the time!) but now i realize now that i was maybe 1/4 of the cost of paying real painters

So what your idea of "...near full interior repaint...." is appropriately 35% of the actual job. Lol.

If you aren't painting "trim, moldings, walls or ceilings", what is left for the 35%? Doors?

Jesus.

WHen we moved into our 3200 square foot home with a two story entryway it was 100% builders beige walls and ceiling. Every square inch of it. We had ceilings painted white and all walls painted at it was $3200.

What was your quote? Painting is often times very high. Paint has also gone up some.

But I mean 3 weeks of nights and afternoons you are talking what maybe 60 hours of work? 60 hours x $50/ hour= $3,000 in labor cost. Now $50/ hour maybe questionable but that's also a hell of a lot for a side hustle job.

The key to painting is proper prep and prepping new construction or a remodel is often a PITA.

I suppose I worded it weird, we're painting ceilings throughout the house and walls in every room except laundry room and maybe the office, trim and molding is already white so we're leaving that alone. The house was built in the early 2000s so it has color matched ceilings throughout.

ETA: I'm a cheap bastard and DIY as much crap as I can.

Painting is pretty easy. It sucks but easy to do.

I paid $30k to have entire interior of my house painted. Pretty steep but was worth it imo.

Huh, I got the entire inside of my house including cabinets done for 10k.

I take that back. It was 11.5k because we bought the paint

Was it a new build? If so, The painter taped off the windows and sprayed everything. Probably took him 5 days max. No fixtures, cabinets, or floors. Spray all trim and do doors in the centers of rooms, spray all walls and ceilings, cut walls and ceilings, throw away plastic and tape, leave lots of overspray on the floors, leave unused paint for owner to touchup once the rest of construction is done. Profit?!?

Ha, thankfully no. The guys doing this have been A+, except the painter.

What model did you get? Those things look like they are worth every penny from the videos I have seen.

I enjoy painting interior rooms in my house. A couple of years ago I painted the entire interior of my in-laws’ house, including trim work. It took me 8 days. It was very satisfying.
