I’m bout to lose my religion. I took every single one down, unplugged them, took the batteries out and threw them outside…..THERE’S STILL A CHIRP!!! It’s alternating from room to room. WTF

Broom?? I’d shoot it with a 12 gauge if I could find what’s making the noise

Sure did. It was one I took down about 5 years ago. It ended up in a junk drawer in my entertainment cabinet. Had no clue it was there it’s been so long. lil son of a bitch

How old are they, they are good for 10 years, most will tell you. Replace all in like kind. Try to get the same brand, model, etc. Same with replacing garbage disposals. Same brand makes the job so much easier.

Well now you know - that it’s time to have your hearing checked. You just got a reality check that there’s a bigger problem than your smoke detectors.
If you can’t properly localize sound, it’s time to get that shite fixed.

Check attic
Time interval so can know when to expected it.
Look for carbon dioxide detector left in hidden place or in a drawer.

Smoke detectors apparently have an expiration date. Mine were coming up on 10 years in use, and even though I changed the batteries (were powered, so battery for backup) they still chirped. Saw there was an expiration date stamped on back . Damned things like to start chirping about 3 AM.. I put in all new ones. Hopefully good for another 10 years.

I unplugged all of mine and replaced them with some that have a 10 year batter life. Those beeps will make you lose your mind.

I would have fought the idiot that put them in my last house. The all to familiar 3 am beep, but it's in my daughter's room, at the top of the 16 foot cathedral ceiling.

My home insurance is through Progressive and they sent me replacement batteries for free. So I replaced them all, and about a year later they all started chirping within days of each other.
Spend the money and get something like that. Do not use Progressive’s free cheapo batteries.
