Forked tail had me skeered......

This is the first time I've ever seen a Kite. Any where you live?

That's pretty cool! We see Mississippi kites every year and started seeing them very recently this year. Cool birds.

My neighborhood has more Mississippi Kites than any other bird it seems. I see the coasting around all day long.

Saw a Swallow-tailed in Morgan City a couple weeks ago.

2 pair of Mississippi kites nest this time of year in my neighborhood. They have a square end tail and are super agile. I saw one dive bomb and snag a cicada on the wing. Heard the crunch as its talon grabbed the cicada.

We get red-tailed hawks and Mississippi kites in our neighborhood. Squirrels are fricked.

I see Mississippi Kites pretty commonly, but never seen a swallow-tailed. That is really cool!

How did you cook it?…

We might be neighbors. I see that bird flying over my house regularly. I live in a neighborhood that is synonymous with Pasturecreek...

Where we live near the Diversion Canal, we have been seeing them for years, numbers are constantly increasing. They are a common bird lately.
