Thats the kind I have too. Good price and they hold up. My mom has had hers for about 7 years now.
Also, after 3 years I finally have some. Two males and two females and hopefully they grow from there.

Finally had a few around my house today. Checked it out and they flew all around. A dam sparrow came in and spooked them a little. They did return after while for a short time. Then they just up and rolled I guess. Hopefully they will come back and stay a while. I have been having a speaker outside playing their chatter for the last several weeks.

I had the same thing happen last week, but they didn't come back. Now I feel bad for not being more vigilant with sparrow removal.

Jesse, I’ve had three boxes full for over a month, same with my neighbors?? 60 mile west of Sport. I’ve had houses for over 25 years, if it gets super cold they will fly South and return when the bugs they eat come back. I’ve also had a flock come from up North to shelter over night in our houses.

For some reason the martins are afraid of sparrows and dive bomb on crows just walking on the ground 50 ft away. I have been sparrow sniping all morning. Little bastards!

Same here except it was Starlings. I'll be on pellet gun duty.

Are you in a large neighborhood? I'm out in Katy and have always wanted to put up a box but thought the HOA would have something to say. That said, we see PMs all the time.

We live in Woodcreek Reserve. Technically, we were probably supposed to get approval because it is above our fence. We have never been cited and I have five other neighbors our immediate vicinity that also have houses. Check your deeds and restrictions, but I doubt you would be denied if you asked for approval to put one up. This year might be too late, though.

We finally got purple martins staying at the house today. They have been flying over a lot & not staying. So happy to hear their sweet chirping.

Been getting this as well. I went ahead and lowered the box and removed 3 sparrow nests. Here I am on sparrow deletion duty.

I was doing the same thing but with a red ryder. I had missed and hit the house scaring the martins on the other side who flew out like a bat outta hell. I thought they were gone for good and haven't seen 1 all weekend. So I put my speaker back out this morning with my bird noises and luckily they are back.

Two females and a male landed this morning. Seems kinda late, but I'll take it.

Dam sparrows are relentless! Luckily they are on the other side of the house of the 3 martins. I lowered the house and ripped out the sparrow nest and eggs just yesterday. Hopefully they will move on. The fish loved those sparrow eggs!
