Protecting Trees from Roundup

I have a weed problem and need to spray them with Roundup. The problem is they are very close to my fruit trees. From what I've read, glosophate neutralizes in the soil and will not affect my fruit trees as long as I don't get the spray on the tree itself. Should I wrap the trees in garbage bags and spray in the evening, leaving the trees wrapped until morning?
It reaches the upper 90s during the day and drops to the 70s at night. In the evening when I would first wrap them and spray it would probably still be in the mid 80s. Do I need to worry about the trees overheating? We're in the middle of a drought and they're young trees so they're already struggling a bit. Will they be fine if I unwrap them as soon as I finish spraying?

Whenever I spray Round-up near plants I treasure, I make sure to do it on a windless day and shield their leaves. I don't think getting the spray on trunk or stems is a problem, although I would definitely try to avoid. And the spray dries very rapidly, so as long as leaves are shielded during the spray, there is no need to shield afterwards?

I used to always spray very early in the morning when there was no wind, and use a hood on the spray wand. It's slower with the hood, but it completely eliminates drift.

Idk, I spray around my trees not long after I plant them. Doesn’t seem to affect them.

Just don't get it on the leaves.

Roundup works through photosynthesis. Keep it off the leaves and you are fine

Yep, that’s your only real concern with glyphosate.

what type of fruit trees and how old are they?
i wrap my 1-3 yr old peach trees in foil to protect from sun scald, and roundup when i spray around the base.
you are okay with getting it in the soil, that wont hurt it, but a young tree with undeveloped bark is not going to like glyphosate. even if it doesnt kill it, you are looking at possible long term damage.
