Are the "Weatherproof" ones worth the money?

Should I just buy a cheap one, put a cover on it, and expect to replace it every few years?

It will be under a covered patio.

I've had an LG under a covered patio for 5 years with no problems. No need to cover it.

Get a regular TV...you can order a cover on Amazon for $30 if you choose to, but not really necessary as long as it is not out in the rain.

Just buy a cheap one and cover it. The “outdoor tv’s” aren’t worth the extra $$

I bought mine at Wal Mart with the two year protection plan for like $20 in case I had issue. No problems yet, and been wet some from pressure washing porch. I will say, make sure and buy good surge protector. I lost a tv and satellite box before from close lightning strike before surge protector.

By a vizio or whatever is on sale at wal mart. Ive had one on my back porch, uncovered for over 7 years. The only issue ever is the HDMI ports tend to get a bit corroded, or develop a crud which requires some cleaning or moving to another port. I also have one by my cooking area for three years now, that I keep covered with a waterproof cover I bought on Amazon. It is subject to the elements 24 hours a day.

I found a clearance Panasonic that I've had under the patio for about 5 years and accidentally sprayed it with water when cleaning the patio one time. Still working.

We got a 4K smart tv on a good Black Friday sale two years ago that lives under our back patio. I used to strictly take it down and put it up for about 2 months until that got old. Has stayed there ever since with no issues whatsoever.

With as cheap as tvs are these days, buying one for a couple hundred bucks and taking care of it seems like the best bet. If you need to apply an anti glare coating so be it.

cheapest thing you can find with the features that you want. My cheap TV outside lasted longer than my expensive inside TV
