Ok…I am done…need pool equipment diagnosis

I have a few things going on with my pool and I need some help.
1 - when it goes from high to low speed sometimes it loses pressure in the line. When it clicks back on the pump takes a bit to prime. I have also noticed that my site glass doesn’t always get filled when the pump is running. What could cause this?
2 - The pool timer for the pumps are acting very strange. Have the basic yellow timers that turn on the main pump to high during the day and should turn it off at the set time, but that doesn’t happen always. I’ll come home and it’ll be running at 6 PM still. For forcing me to go out and turn it to low speed manually. Relatively new timer.
3 - The Polaris pump doesn’t keep correct time. I thought it was the timer that was worn out so I replaced it. Now it’s still doing it.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out why this is happening. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If in the BTR area, contact Dustin Castle Pools.

Sounds like air could be making its way to the pump, causing it to lose prime.
Two things worth trying:
1. Buy a pool pump seal kit and replace all the seals on your pump.
2. Could also be spider gasket of your filter.
Not sure if all filters have one, but mine has an air relief valve that I can bleed air out of the system as a short-term fix for a few hours (if experiencing air intrusion).
Pool timer, not sure. If it's a mechanical intermatic, maybe your metal trippers aren't fully tightened down. Or maybe gears are going bad and just need to replace the timer mechanism.

Sounds like you might have a small air leak at your pump. I would first try putting some magic lube on your pump basket O ring, and maybe the suction O ring.

If its an intermatic timer, I would try replacing the the "off" clip with a new one. Also, remember that on clips and off clips are not interchangeable.

if you have air in your pump you have a suction side air leak. so somewhere between the pump housing and your skimmer and floor drain(if you have one).
1st step, if you have any unions take them apart and grease the o-ring with pool grade o-ring lubricant. also grease the o-ring for your pump lid. also any plugs on the bottom of the housing grease those and make sure they are tight. remember that this leak has to be on the suction side so from pump housing back to the pool. not downstream of the pump thru the filter and to the pool return jets. if you have valves on the suction side of the pump those can leak also. If you search on trouble free pool forum you can get some more tips on how to troubleshoot. They would also be glad to help if you post over there and take some pictures. They have some methods using shaving cream etc that can help find the leak.
I am assuming its the normal style of pool timer that has the small screw that you slide around the dial to set the time. sometimes those arent positioned correctly and it doesnt fully push the on/off switch. take the screw piece off and readjust it and see what happens.

The impeller could be damaged by rocks/debris, hair, leaves, etc., which could also be causing issues.
I'd do a complete overhaul with new parts and use proper silicon grease for the seals: Impeller Replacement Kit includes: 073127 Impeller × 1, O-ring × 1, Seal Plate Gasket × 1, Screw × 1, Seals × 2. Everything included for a quick, complete repair ... $15 - $40 on Amazon

Those timers suck. I had 2 and after replacing the on/off clips several times and a couple complete rebuilds i finally gave up and moved to the pentair automation. One of the timer failures blew up my polaris boost pump.
