Need recommendations for a riding mower and string trimmer

About to move into a new home. My first home. Looking for a riding mower under $2000 and a battery powered string trimmer under $200. Any suggestions?

If you have a yard that requires less than an hour of weed eating/trimming look into worx. For about $180 you get the trimmer and blower, plus the trimmer quickly converts to an edger.

If you aren’t going with a battery trimmer, then get the Echo SRM 225 gas.
It’s a steal in the $225 range.

I have this one with the edger attachment.
It’s awesome and I do a good bit of weedeating and edging. Had it for almost 4 with zero problems. This sucker gets after it.

Yep, that thing is a beast and eats up grass along fence lines, edges great, has a shite ton of power to cut through almost anything, line loads easily and the only thing you should do is use non-ethanol gas in it and you'll be fine.
Best string trimmer I've owned over the years, and I've owned plenty.

I have the exact same thing... Ryobi electric trimmer and edger... that thing is great
As for riding mower...mine is 15yrs old and runs like a top

+1 on the Echo 225 for gas. I suggest you consider the PAS version if you think you need the additional attachment options.

For a string trimmer spend the money and get an Echo or Stihl.
I have an echo that I've had for over 15 years. Starts within three pulls every time.

PAS echo system. I have an edger and a trimmer. Will probably get a pole saw attachment next

I got the Toro weed eater that accepts attachments. Have the edger attachment for it. 5 years no issues.

Like several others here, I’d highly recommend the Echo SRM 225, I bought mine 6 years ago for $200 plus tax and it has been more than I could have hoped for, still starts on 3rd pull, runs .095” string so it can handle some tough stuff, saw it for $199 at Home Depot last week. If you think you’ll eventually need a trimmer, edger, hedge cutter, pole saw, cultivator, the the Echo PAS system might be better to start with, same trimmer but has several add on head options.
As for lawn mower, depends on what your lawn is like, size wise, trees, hills, slopes, etc. but if you’re wanting new, at $2000 your best bet will be a Husqvarna, Poulan Pro, John Deere or Cub Cadet yard tractor type mower. Not as fast or easy to use as a zero turn but there’s no zero turns at $2000 price I’d buy or recommend, you’d have to hunt around for a good used one. I had a Poulan Pro YT5220 or something like that, 52” cut with 20 hp Briggs, it lasted over 8 years and I let it go as part of a house sale, still mowing strong, made by Husqvarna.
