I just applied MSM Turf to my St Aug.
What’s next and when? It’s time to take back my yard.
Lawn burrweed, burr clover, pony feet, and lespedesia seem to be the worst culprits

If you have not fertilized yet then I would start there. The Site One in Baton Rouge has a 24-2-11 with 6% iron. It is also a slow release formula. That would be a good option for a St Aug lawn. In two weeks I would walk the yard again and spray any weed that is still green and shows no signs of curling. Those are weeds you missed on the first go round. Two weeks after that I would do the same thing. Other than that just time, water, and sun.

Perfect! That’s what I was thinking.
How long to wait to fertilize? A week?

Do it this weekend. Fertilizer doesn’t affect herbicide.

All I have for fertilizer is 29-0-5. Is that alright to put on st aug? Want to do it today

I believe the common advice for St. Aug is 1# of N per 1000 sf, so that should be a good fert to use. That puts you using about 3.5 lbs per 1000 sqft.
I plan on putting 24-0-4 on mine today.

Yes, that's fine. 3lbs per thousand.

This is the correct answer. And yes, your 29-0-5 is fine for St Aug.

Anyone know where I can buy Sedgehammer (or equivalent) without having to order it? Located in Lafayette. Green Kyllinga is taking over my lawn. Everything else has done great with MSM I applied about a week ago, except for these dang sedges.

Ronk, what temp do you switch over to Celcius?
Patience with MSM is paying off, working great so far.

Once temps hit 85 degrees and we won't be going back under that.

Can I still use MSM?
Posted on 4/30/21 at 2:43 pm to trident
The label says not to use it in temps above 85* as lawn injury may occur, but I haven't tried to test that.
I am also a firm believer in Celsius. It starts working in 1/4 of the time of MSM and I know I can use it all summer.

The MSM Turf label does say an upper limit of 85 F but I’ve used it a higher temps approaching 90, low 90s without damage to Centipede or St Augustine, or common bermudagrass, on the advice some trained lawn professionals, but I do apply it only in the AM and spot treat only at higher temperatures, not whole lawn treatment.
I prefer to use Celsius in the heat of summer though not from over concern of temperature limitations but rather b/c of its efficacy on Doveweed, and a couple others weeds that MSM Turf doesn’t control.

Same. I have used it at higher temps and been ok sometimes a little yellowing. And yes, Celsius is the shite.

What is shelf life of MSM?
Also blink twice if someone in this thread works at Site One.
I have a commercial account with Site One but I dont have Commercial Pesticide Applicator Cert with the state. Site One website shows MSM is Regulated, but Im assuming thats just regulating states that it can be sold in?
Also blink twice if someone in this thread works at Site One.
