Lumber Prices - My fence material quotes Sept vs Now

I posted this into the privacy fence conversation, but it probably has broader appeal than just fences. I have no idea of this is similar for untreated prices.
The prices do seem to be down. I had a partial quote on fence materials done on 9/3 and then I asked that they update the same quote on 12/4.
First price is the recent quote. All much lower now with the exception of the pickets.
4x4x8 Treated Posts - NOW $7.29 vs $20.39
2x4x16 Treated NOW $9.80 vs $15.84
2x6x16 Treated NOW $13.56 vs $22.91
6" Treated Dog Eared NOW $1.93 vs $1.86 (No inventory at time of quote)
September was right at 50% higher than my quote this week. No real change on the concrete on the quote.

This is happening all over. I would delay any projects that require lumber right now.

Wrong
Peaked low a few weeks ago. Prices are going up and may continue through spring. Could be worse than this past summer.

Why would they rise through the winter aren’t they usually the lowest in winter?

I am in Lake Charles. There are thousands of fences being put back up right now. Prices are high

Usually so but they are creeping up and it will be a bad spring.

I just put up a 50x60 steel building and we were planning a 20x20 built-out area with kitchen and full bath but damn with the pricing of lumber now we probably gonna put the kitchen buildout off until the prices relax a bit.
3/4” tng advanctech plywood went from $45 to $62/sheet in 2 months!

Why are you using advantech? Just curious. It’s a metal building build out that won’t be exposed.

Your Now prices is about what I paid a year ago for fencing.
