I bought a Subaru powered one from Costco a few years ago. I am very happy with it, but if I had to do it again I would spend a few extra $ and get a Honda preferably with a CAT pump. Honda small engine parts are easy to get.

1. Don't buy electric

I’m on my second electric and love it. Just bought a 2700 psi for $299.
I only use it a few times/yr. to clean my siding and my driveway, so I don’t want to deal with having to get gas or having gas sit in it for 6 months or more. Also, my garage is now a gameroom so I’d have to keep it in my shed, which is full of red wasps most of the year. I keep the elctric one in my house.

Lots of folks have said GPM over PSI.

Listen to them.

It really depends on what you’re doing. I had a 3500 psi gas powered that did a good job, but was a lot of work to use and maintain for the two or three times a year a i used it. Just bought a 1900 psi electric and it works just fine for around the house projects. Takes up less space no maintenance, and a whole lot cheaper. However, for big work, it wouldn’t get it done.

If you can afford it, find one with a Honda GX engine instead of the GC.

I can upvote this for you. My 2000 psi 1.2 gpm electric does the job. Been pulling it out once or twice a year with zero upkeep or problems for the past 5 years.

Cleans the house? -yes
Cleans the carport? yes
Cleans the driveway? Ugghh, I wish I had a gas powered washer.

I'm in the same boat. Live in a neighborhood and the electric one I have does the job.

Once a year a do the driveway, I just rent a 3500 PSI from Home Depot with the sweeper attachment. For less than $150 I get my driveway done and don't have to worry about storage, old fuel, maintenance etc.

I have the little harbor freight electric for like 50 bucks. It does a great job on small jobs. I had the Ryobi with subaru engine that finally crapped out.

Picked up the Ryobi with the Honda engine yesterday. $330

This will go over like turd in well but Walmart has “sun joe” electric pressure washers for $69 right now. I just got one and seems like it will do most stuff I need around house. Two year warranty and chase Sapphire Reserve used for purchase will add one more year. BIL has high dollar gas pressure washer I can borrow when needed. Electric is too easy and cheap.

If you want it to last, Honda GX Motor with a Cat pump. Ethanol free gas, change the oil once a year and lastly don’t let it idle for more than one minute without depressing the handle. Extends the pump life..

Costco has Husqvarna 3100 psi for $270. Walmart has a similar brand for $280. Use it hard the 1st few times to get your moneys worth and any projects after that is gravy. Once it dies, replace it. Trying to fix them isn’t worth it. They are essentially disposable so don’t spend lots of money on them

Bought my husband a commercial type pressure washer from
Home Depot about 8-10 yrs ago for $400+. My son advised me to get commercial one when buying!!!! ?? He loves it and so does everyone whose ever borrowed it. He bought an attachment that circulates to scrub driveway. Don’t remember brand.

Once you settle on a pressure washer, make sure you get one of these. I can't recommend it enough. Cuts the time in half if you're doing a driveway or patio.

Whatever you do buy one with a Honda motor and a CAT pump

Cat & General, make the best pumps. 3-4 gpm @ 2400 psi will wash anything you need washing around your home for many years.

Have a prefilter added to the water supply before it goes into the pump. Sand granules are the biggest enemy to PW Pumps.

Here's a decent little washer from Northern Tools, equipped with CAT Pump and Honda engine.

With proper maintenance, you probably won't have to buy another one. LINK
