Any suggestions?

I had a cheap Black and Decker which lasted over 10 years. Thinking about getting another one.

The Ryobi 40v brushless can commonly be found under 200 with a 4ah battery.. Pretty solid

I have an Ego and I recommend the brand. Every now and again they run the tool on sale where you get a free battery and charger. You should wait for them to run thst promotion.

ETA: I see that Lowes has trimmer, blower, battery and charger bundle on sale now.

I have a Milwaukee and no complaints. However I now have an ego lawnmower and would probably go that route now that I’m in that ecosystem too. I am basing this on the fact that they have the new blowers so I assume their trimmer is nice too

Ego. I’m loving the POWER+ 16" LINE IQ STRING TRIMMER WITH POWERLOAD.

My Ego line consists of the trimmer, blower, hedger, and lawnmower. Looking to buy the pole saw next.

I own the EGO system (trimmer, blower, mower) and its perfect for my needs, but many on here recommend Greenworks.

Yep. Been using one of these with other attachments for years with a 5ah battery. Swapped out the trimmer head for an Oregon gator speed load and been very happy with that setup.

Those of you with Ego trimmers… do you use the Ego brand line packs that are pre-cut to length, or corn your own line off of a longer roll?

I've been happy with my Kobalt (Lowes) trimmer and mower but mostly got them because the batteries are interchangeable and got the trimmer first. If I hadn't I'd have probably bought Ego.

Mine has an auto feed button where you cut a long length of line, feed it halfway through, press a button and it auto winds it on the spool.

My Dewalt holds up fine, but admittedly I have a pretty small workload for it.

Same with the mini chainsaw and pruners that use the same battery.

I just buy a spool of generic trimmer line of the proper diameter and wind the spool myself. Takes less than 5 minutes and saves a ton of cash.

Would have said this, until yesterday. Wife burned the motor up, and I'm not sure how!

I have had my ego for six years without any issues whatsoever. Would recommend it get the one that Self winds the string. It’s worth it.
