I started a thread a couple months ago asking for installer recs for aluminum pool fencing and the removable nylon safety fences. After getting quotes for both I decided to go with the safety fence. I am pretty sure the two companies I got bids from were working together and both had 4 week lead times so I decided to DIY.

Found the exact same brand of fence on amazon and they had a great website with detailed YouTube videos for every stage of the project. Even after purchasing a cheap hammer drill from HF and a good bit from Home Depot I still came in less then 1/3 of what I was quoted. It ended up taking 1/2 a Saturday and a couple of hours 2 evenings this week to finish so it really is a 1 day install.

I purchased the fencing, a drill guide, and a gate from Amazon and they delivered it to the house in 2 days for free.

After installing the fence and seeing how easy it is to remove the posts I decided to return the gate without even opening it. This saved another couple hundred.

For anyone looking for pool fencing I would definitely check out this system.

I purchased 12 panels that are 12’ each and ended up needing to use all of them because of the 90degree corners. I didn’t realize until after I received the fencing that 90 corners take extra work and the online instructions recommend contractors should be sure to charge extra to do them. I really didn’t have a choice because my decking is only 3’ wide and I have some tight turns.

You need to splurge and buy back that magnetic latch gate.

Consider it a treat to yourself for going DIY-route.

Do you have one? I still have the gate, I haven't returned it yet. I just don't see myself using it much because we will most likely be taking the entire 12' panel down by the steps when we swim anyway.

I would rather put that money towards a Dolphin pool robot!

It's a little tight and you lose a good bit of deck space, but it looks good. But let me also say, as a pool owner, there has to be a fence or barrier. Little kids are sneaky as shite and are attracted to pools.

I have a life-saver fence and a gate. I also have young kiddos, so it's convenient for me to just open the latch when we want to get in and out.

I'd say if you have kids, the gate is almost a necessity. If not, it may become a pain when you test the pool to unclip and undo a panel pole each time.

Good looking pool. If you don’t mind me asking, how much did it cost? The pool, not the fence. Looking to get one for next summer.

I couldn’t tell you because it came with the house we just bought. The consensus from other threads on this board seems to be 40-70K depending on options and decking.

Mine is a basic 15,000gallons 15’x30’+ spa.
It is also a sport pool so shallow on both ends and a little deeper (5.8’) in the middle.

I want one of these so I can take down the wooden fence that splits my yard in two.

I'm a little concerned about how hard they are to remove and put back in place and sturdiness. Also worried it'll stifle pool maintenance.

They are really easy to put in and take our. It seems sturdy enough to me that I am confident my kids or the dog won’t be getting through it anytime soon. Most of the bad reviews and weak spots I have seen online look like they are caused by sub-par installs that leave slack in the fence.

If you take the time to lay it out right, use the template and drill guide they offer you shouldn’t have any issues.

I had the same fence professionally installed and it was tight. Definitely difficult to get out even for me in some places. My wife wouldn’t have been able to do it. Glad I had the gate. Rarely pulled the fence up except to clean. Didn’t really need to actually.

Yeah, that's a concern. Id want to out it 2-3 feet from the pool to open the yard up but be able to take a section out if I have a few swimmers.
