I hit the yard with some weed killer about 10 days ago. I was going to put down my Crabgrass Control Plus 0 - 0 - 7 with 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide this weekend.

Should I wait until this arctic blast comes next weekend? Or it doesn't matter and the light rain in New Orleans today/tomorrow will help it take off.

I have the Ferti-Lome Weed Free Zone Plus Lawn Fertilizer 18-0-6 granules.
I applied in November per packaging and seemed to work pretty good to knock back spurweed and other broadleaf plants. Should I apply more now? I ordered a bunch and want to use it if I can instead of buying other types.

I just got back inside from spraying my Prodiamine & Simazine. My 5 day avg soil temps have been at ~55° for a couple weeks now. I figured I better get it before the rain.

I do not believe the cold will harm anything. Better to be early than late, but I'm no pro.

For a newbie like me, what should I be doing right now. Lawn looks decent but some weeds mixed in certain areas. Prodiamine now seems to be the opinion on here.

Apply a pre em. Prodiamine or dimension would be preferred

I now sooner is better but how long after applying a preemergent is too long to wait for rain? I really do not want to drag out hoses trying to get my lawn watered.

Will the potential freezing temperatures next weekend help kill off some of the weeds that are emerging now?

was wondering the same thing. I am planning to apply tomorrow ahead of this rain.

No, the weather won't kill the weeds. The weeds you have now are winter weeds and are made for this weather.

Use prodiamine this time around. If you plan on double apping it then you can do one in January and one 6 weeks later.

It's been about 6 weeks. When you said double apping, did that mean using it at full strength both times or was I supposed to split that up between 2 applications?

I have some major POA Annua and some other bright green bushy weeds growing like crazy right now. Hopefully this afternoon's rain isn't too bad and I can get a scalp going this weekend or something.

Is Scott’s Weed Ex any good as a preemergent or should I go with the stonewall again?

That’s what I figured. I was at Lowe’s so I figured I’d ask but i didn’t even bother buying it.

What if I put down prodiamine in February and plan on hitting up with dimension in May? How would that work out?

Probably work well. You aren't going to be preventing a lot of crabgrass in May as it will be germinated but Dimension kills young crabgrass. You'd probably take out whatever the prodiamine may have missed.
