Bury debris along the fence line. They dig until they hit it and move on. Eventually ours stopped trying to dig out.

You should try putting a cattle hot wire. I had a dog that was doing similar shite and after her nose hit that wire she stayed a few feet from it

I've got him on 75 lead attached to a tree now. He lays there depressed all day.

Looking around to find him an appropriate home. We have some friends who own a farm and foster dogs.

The dog needs exercise. I was in your shoes once. I didn’t want to believe it, but his bad habits were really his masters’ fault.

How does one exercise a dog that will not fetch, will not walk on a leash, will not play with other dogs, doesn't desire human attention?

We have another golden doodle that is completely normal. We have a german shorthaired pointer that is 6 months old and completely well behaved. We have an adopted yorkie that is an a-hole but we adopted him at 2 years old so the damage was already done.

Heck yea. Best dogs around. Can be wild but if you tend to them they're incredible. We have 2.

That being said, our runt has become a bit of an escape artist and has somehow scaled my 7 foot cedar fence, no joke, chasing a possum. I think he does a Jackie Chain full sprint and bounces off the corners to get to the top. He's insanely smart.

Luckily he has trapped the sucker in a tree both times just on the other side of the fence but we're not really sure what to do. He also killed a rat the other day for his first kill. Good Boy. But the animal obsession control him and we're worried about losing him for good. He's def. the type of dog someone would steal.

As for golden doodles. Weird petry dish dogs. Feel like they're 50/50. Either really good or totally WTF psycho dogs that can't be dealt with. Sorry for the trouble, hope you can find a good home and its not too tough. Sounds like you've tried everything.

My GWP was digging under my fence when I moved into my current house which was something he had never thought about doing. I tried rebar, and would dig so low that he could basically part them open and escape. I was finally fed up with it, so I took apart a small section of my wood fence and poured about 18" of concrete and then covered it all up with dirt. The next day he tried it again and I could see where his nails had tried to dig through the concrete. He stopped from then on.

You could try one of those zip lines too but they're kind of trashy.

Bury a bunch of jack-in-the-boxes around the perimeter of the yard to scare him shitless

Of course it is the best breed if trained properly.

Are you running a fking shelter? I could not imagine having that many shite eaters. Sounds like you should put your foot down.

are you sure the shocker is working? have you tested it out to make sure it is? Is his collar tight enough for him to feel it through his coat?

other solution if you don't have time to exercise the dog everyday, get another dog. They need companionship. My two go out and run around every morning in the backyard together, and they do the same thing every evening.
Nevermind, i see that you have other dogs.

My husky was digging and breaking my fence and once i put the collar on him and put the wiring up, he hasn't gotten out again, except the one time i took his collar off and forgot to put it back on. fricker knows what that collar is for.
he'd do the same thing you're describing, he'd break out the fence just so he could play with the neighbors kids that were outside.

The dumbass even has an invisible fence on the fence. Turned up as high as it will go, fresh batteries. He just takes the shock.
I deplore the digging but you’ve got to admire the persistence.

These will get expensive but will be effective for your “wife’s” dog. Maybe.

Hyper Australian Shepard puppy here.

I cut my grass as low as the mower would go then laid down green plastic chicken mesh type stuff you get at the depot. I used garden cloth stakes to keep it down. Then I let the grass grow through it so you can’t see it. Works perfectly. I didn’t want to use metal so he didn’t cut himself.

I've got an Aussie and a Lab. They live in the house. They run and play outside 1 or 2 hours a day. Dogs are very happy with mom and dad indoors. If they are outside dogs they want socialization and find ways to escape.

Great solution. I’ve got a couple of spots along my back fence where that’ll work perfectly.

Spray some ammonia on the fence line. They hate it.

We used to spray our trash cans with ammonia to keep neighborhood dogs from knocking our can over.
