Depends where you are. This time of year I can just spray roundup on anything that's green (when the snow melts).

Don’t forget to review the Lawn thread sticked at the top of the H&G board - pre-emergents are discussed.

Air temps are going to be in the 70s here this week so I expect soil temps to go up

I’m going to be gone most of February so i might lay it down this weekend with the rain coming up

The 3 months coverage will wear off in time for me to do a spring overseed

I skipped it in the fall because I had some pretty rough grass in spots due to the summer and I was worried more about the grass growing in. I really don't want to skip again but now I'm thinking about putting down sod in some spots.

Should I just do the preemergent where I don't plan on putting sod down?

You're welcome, Commander Rabb. We've all asked at some point along the way. Crawdude and Ronk are far more knowledgeable on this stuff than I. I try to learn what I can from them.
Depending on your grass type this may assist you LINK

Craw, you got me in trouble with the garden Nazi's. I accidentally posted in their thread because I saw you post about a stickied thread and didn't read the title.

I noticed yesterday it was no longer stickied. I was going there to read up on fungicides, but couldn't find it so had to start a new thread. Hopefully someone can get it sticked up there again.

Yes - I noticed they took the stickied lawn thread down like several days after I mentioned it - Puffoluffagus did a very good job of summarizing/providing relevant info for frequently asked lawn questions/recommended lawn products (fertlizers, herbicides, etc.)

As ronk said, hopefully Puffoluffagus can re-post a 2024 lawn thread that can be stickied soon as it is rapidly approaching the time where pre-emergent herbicides can/should be applied in the coastal zone areas.

Soil temps been in the high 50s and 60s here all week

Threw my 0–0-7 Yard Mastery down and then some image for souther lawns to get some post emergent action as well to kill the POA that showed up before the crazy cold and now what’s been popping up in this 70 degree weather
