Inside AC unit working fine, but outside fan is not spinning and the unit is buzzing
Blowing air, but it’s not cold. I had the capacitor changed out last year. I’m thinking it’s the motor, but unsure.

It started turning when I moved the fan blades with a stick, but quit shortly after. Hard to believe it’s the capacitor when I just had it changed out last year.

Still could be a bad capacitor - many cheap Chinese capacitors fail within a year. Only way to know is to check it with a multimeter with a capacitance setting. If it’s the capacitor replace it with a good American made capacitor like AmRad.

But it could be bad bushings in the condenser fan motor causing it seize up as it gets hot. Had to replace my condenser fan motor a couple years ago for this reason. How old is your unit?

Sounds like a capacitor. You can have more than one, and lots of brands are just crap. Try to find something made in Japan or the US. There are so many brands but Amrad and Mars should be available, the Japanese have spread out and make capacitors all over Asia and a lot of US brands started making capacitors in Mexico, you need to see the Capacitor or order from a trusted source to get one made in a good plant.

Reminds me, how do I open up my condenser panel and check my capacitor without getting shocked?

Numerous YouTube videos on this. Just look that those videos produced by HVAC techs.

Couple to get you started.

Of course always pull your HVAC electrical power disconnect first before removing and checking a capacitor. Will be right next to the condensing unit.

Temporary solution while you waiting to get fixed. Rig a hose nozzle to spray a mist on the coils and it will cool pretty good.
