i have a concrete statue of mary around 30" high that is 150 lbs and i can barely move it. that is the mother of jesus for you heathens.

its beat to hell and cracked and has been glued back together a few times, but its still usable if cleaned up and repainted. the issue is its too damn heavy for me to pick up and move around.

i would like to replace her if i could find one that is around 50 lbs.

does anyone know where to get one that is hollow inside and not solid concrete all the way through?

I've never seen one that didn't weight a ton. D & D ornamental concrete can get you a new one uncracked (but still heavy).

ya, that is my problem, its too heavy to pick up or move around for this old man.

is D & D ornamental concrete the one in ponchatoula? i checked that one and they dont have any that arent solid concrete.

marys head broke off a few different times and i reglued it back on and repaired chips and cracks many times before repainting her, but i figure its time she retires and we get a new one, but i cant lift it, so i sure dont want to buy one if i cant lift it.

i would hate to not replace her, but i need something i can lift and move around

Design Toscano has light weight resin versions that look like granite.

Design Toscano

I think Lowes carries them online as well. This one is 36" tall and 14 lbs.

Do you throw the old Mother Mary away? Doesn't seem right. I have never had this issue.

There is a statuary place in BR on the corner of Florida and N Flannery that has about an acre of statues out back.

Bet you could find what you want there.

Imagine living a life of being scoffed at for having a child before she had sex, bearing a the son of God, and then two thousand years later reading on an internet board that your concrete statue is too heavy.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and as we attempt to move your heavy-assed statue across the yard.

yay i got lucky and the boss has decided that its time for mary and the concrete frogs
sitting on the opposing love seats, can go so i can sell or donate them to someone else

i was also able to talk her out of mixing Azalea and Hydrangea, so now i can go with all Azalea so that makes things very simple now.

Hydrangea get like 4ft x 4ft so they arent a great choice for the side walkway or under windows

i just have to clear the area, prep the spoil, get some new plants, and potting soil to mix in with the dirt

i think i will try to sell mary and the frogs to help pay fore some of the new plants, maybe i can get $50 for them
