I tore down my shutters. What is this behind it? Rat poop?

What the hell? I had no idea I had a pest problem.

I'm glad I tore them down now. Is this rat droppings? termites?

That’s years and years of frog shite, I think.

I do have a ridiculous amount of frogs and lizards on the property.

These shutters are probably 40 years old.

It’s gecko poop

quote:

Gecko poo is generally elongated and brown, sometimes with a tip of white, and is often mistaken for mouse or rat droppings.

Ah - that makes sense too. I'm glad its not rats.

I never hurt the lizards I see because they eat bugs. This is making me reconsider that position.

The gecko poop theory checks out. We have those things all over the place, and it matches the pictures of gecko poop on the internet.

Yeah definitely lizards from my experience. I see those all the time too. You can find them on the ground right along the brick line around the house, which makes sense.

I give them a pass, haha. Lizards are welcomed. Well at least the green lizards.

I see those deposits often around the shutters near my porch lights. The lights attract bugs, and the geckos hang out to snack on them. Then they crap on my shutters.

It’s lizard crap. You don’t have a pest problem....lizards are eating bugs (the real pests). You can rinse that stuff off with a hose.

That is tens of thousands of mosquitoes after being processed through geckos.

It’s lizard poo. The white tips are dead giveaways. Lizards don’t pee like other animals. They get rid of their urine through their digestive tract. Those white tips on the turds are crystallized urine.
