It’s on two sides of kitchen. 12x12 tile grouted to the wall, behind stove and a good bit I guess. My neighbor does that kind of work and offered to do it as I don’t have the time. How much should I offer him to do it? We’ll supply the new backsplash.

Going price around here is $2 a SF just to install. Add another $1 a SF to remove.

Is your neighbor an DIYer friend, or is he just a neighbor that does this as a living?

Ask your neighbor. Assuming you have a 10x10 kitchen with about 19” between base and uppers and are doing a standard simple pattern probably $350 plus materials

$2/sf for backsplash install?? You realize most kitchens only have 30-40 sf of it.

This is what you’ll get for $2/sf

Install new drywall $250
Install glass tile and grout $750

Galley kitchen... labor and material (subway) ended up being around $600-700. We went through a floor place though, so that was probably marked up %15 or so on labor.

ETA: this was only to install tile.

Install glass tile

Make sure you get someone who knows how to cut and work with glass tile. 90% of installers aren’t qualified to do it.

Paid $500 to install and $500 for tumble stone porcelain with 4 inch wide mosaic glass insert. Very nice job with edges also.

That is labor only in this area. Me, don't cost nothing. I just do things like that for myself.
