I need to install grates on the outside of my house to prevent animals from entering under the house. House is on piers and six grates approximately 2'x 3' each. I would do this myself but I have a bad back. How much per hour to pay workers for something like this?

Jobs like this generally aren’t by the hour, but by the job.

Thought so. How much to cut pieces of plastic grates, paint and install would you think?

Friend,

There's no way any of us know the condition of what you're asking about. Is there shrubbery in the way? Big thorns or little thorns? Is it muddy? Are there mice? Is it snakey? Sun or shade?

What's the quality of the install you're looking for? etc and etc

You're just going to have to talk to folks, ask friends for someone who has helped them and such. Hopefully get a two-three bids, and eventually hire them for whatever rate or price they quote. And know that you may or may not be pleased with the work.

This is the process for having something done by someone else.

Good luck.

ETA: At least now, you have a word to describe the primary material you want installed. Communication is big part of this process!

If you are talking lattice and can deal with it being white they make a vinyl one already painted. Will last longer and won't require painting.

You need to find a handiman for this. I would think someone would do it for $200 if it is as you say, you may be able to find a handiman that will do it at an hourly rate of 2-3 hours which I’d think would be under $200 but idk.

It’s not easy to find someone to show up that’s worthwhile for under about a $200 job.
