Anyone keep track of routine home maintenance items on a spreadsheet? Air filters, HVAC servicing, pest spraying, lawn care timetables, any other major shite I'm missing, etc?
If so anyone want to share...

I try to check/change my air filters at season changes.
And I cut my grass once a week unless it is not growing.
Light bulbs on an as needed basis.
HVAC will wash outside unit in Spring.

Add some bleach down the HVAC condenser drain in spring to keep it from plugging up.
Gutters as needed.
Get in your attic and look for any leaks and repair them ASAP if you find anything.
Clean coils under refrigerator/freezer

If it's broke, I fix it. If it's not broken, I leave it be.
If it doesn't light and it's supposed to, I change the bulb. If it lights up and it's not supposed to, I call the fire department.
Change AC Filters with the seasons and wash outdoor units in the spring and fall.

I subscribe to Second Nature Air Filters which sends me a new filter every 2 months when its time for it to be replaced.

If I had another spreadsheet I'd probably go insane.
I see too many of them at work and I have one for bills. That's enough.
Good luck with that. My only addition would be to check your smoke detectors at the Daylight savings time change (2x per year).

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep them coming.
I just wanted to have a general guideline for timetable to give me reminders on when stuff needs to be done. Plus, if it's in writing, it will help me actually do it timely lol.

Agree that I don't need another spreadsheet in my life. Just the word Smartsheet is enough to make me pop a Zantac by December.
Add to your list:
--check the attic a couple times a year during a very hard rain....leaks happen, shingles fail, and it's nice to know BEFORE the problem advances through your ceiling.
--clean the storm drains in front of your house, or if you feel especially neighborly, all the ones on your block.
--make sure you schedule the annual termite inspection and note when you're due for a re-treatment.
--once a year, open up the bathroom wall inspection ports (many new houses have these) and take a look to see if anything is going on under there. Big leaks often start as small leaks.
--clean out gutters
--change whole-house water filters

I have been thinking of making one of these too, but do not currently have one. Add house pressure washing to the list. Putting bleach in AC drains. Flushing any draining you might have on a patio or something. Make sure your main waste water line is clear of debris and accessible, cleaning of dryer vent, check for roof leaks in the attic, clean your gutters.

Good idea on making sure your AC condensate drain is clear. Get mad at myself too many times for not staying on top of this.
Other items:
1. Oil change on lawnmower, although I typically just do this at the beginning of the season
2. Attic check/ roof check. Make sure all is okay. No leak, etc
3. Privacy fence inspection. Replace damaged boards.
4. Clean out dishwasher strainer. Check washing arms to make sure holes are clear.
5. Water filter in refrigerator
6. Dryer vent inspection

C'mon, man! What's fun in that?

bleach is a very strong chemical, i would not recommend flushing AC drains with it. Use baking soda and vinegar.

I dont have a spreadsheet, but I have an app I use (Family Wall).
We use it for more than maintenance. For cleaning g schedules, shopping lists, etc.
But from my maintenance list on it I have.
Change Air filter
Clean hood vents
Test smoke detector
Test water heater pressure release valve
Car Maintennce
Lawn mower and weedeater spring maintenance
Clean Hvac condenser coils
Clean gutters and check drainage lines
Inspect home exterior and roof
Service AC unit
Clean house exterior
Inspect crawlspace
Inspect Attic
Put on grate entrance for crawlspace and open crawlspace vents.
Vacuum Fridge coils
Check plumbing, clean aerators, clean dryer vent, clean dishwasher filters
Put on solid crawlspace door and close crawlspace vents
Flush hot water heater
Winterize home and cars
Winterize lawnmower and weedeater

Are you worried about inhalation, eye irritation, or pvc corrosion? This isn't industrial, 50% of it is water. Really not a big deal to get all pansied up about.

This thread is giving me anxiety.

Anxiety comes from having to pay for costly repairs from not maintaining your stuff.

I keep all this information along with my automobile maintenance on my phone in my calendar. If something requires me to keep up with run time like on a piece of equipment then I keep up with that in my notes on my phone. Also I keep up with mileage for oil changes and tire rotations in my notes
