Home Gas Line

Wife and I found a possible "forever" home last week, but this home is all electric. I've grown accustomed to a gas stove, drop down lines for crawfish boils, our whole home generator etc.
The neighborhood does have gas run to it, but obviously not to the house. Does anyone have a rough idea how much it would cost to tie into the existing system? I'm guessing 300 feet from the tie in to the house.

I had gas added to my all electric house a couple years ago. The main was on the other side of the street, and they had to run under the road, about 50 feet to the corner of my house where the meter is. It was $500 for this to take place and the meter was "free".
I'd imagine that cost would be more now, and there would be an increase for the distance.
ETA: That said, the cost for a plumber to add the gas lines in my attic was very high, but he added all galvanized pipe and put a plugged T for every appliance we will be changing out for gas in the future.

Seems cheap in this economy, assuming OP is in South LA
Talking electric vs. gas. Induction tops are great from what I've read and a lot of posters have talked about in here. I prefer gas for my stove since I can jack it up to 525 for pizzas. Gas hot water heater is great for the two times we lost power.
Don't some energy providers provide a free meter or at least a heavily discounted rate?

I looked into getting it ran from the main road, down my dead end street, and to my house, which was 2300 feet. Atmos quoted me at $60k. I went with propane instead.

Houston area gas runs 20/ft. Any boring under concrete is an additional 8/ft

I'm finishing up the process on my house for the same reason. It was $700 for the install an meter and an additional $1/ft after the first 100ft. They had to run it 550ft from the road to my house and put in the meter. My house is pier and beam and I plummed the gas lines myself and ran it everywhere I am planning to put gas (dryer, cooktop, tankless gas water heater, converted to gas ventless fireplace for heating, and generator). I thought it was a good price for that much pipe ran!

Way back in 1990 in Cali we were all electric, Gas company brought the line down to the meter, approx 75 ft. It was $720 but when we hooked up central heat they rebated $180, hook up gas stove $180 rebate etc. Water heater and gas dryer got us all the money back.

Check with the gas company.
I had a gas line brought to the house and a meter installed for free.

The parish did it. They even said if I had my water line ready they would put it in the same trench and bury it together.
Never did use the gas and eventually had them lock out the meter so I didn’t have to keep paying the monthly minimum.

Most gas companies have their own rates and it is usually based upon how many gas appliances you will use plus the length of the gas line. mine was $0 because of 2 water heaters, range and gas fire place, outdoor kitchen and less than 250'.
I have a unique idea, why not call the gas company and have them come out and give you an estimate to run gas from the road to your house including a larger than normal pressure meter because of the generator.
Then call a plumber for an estimate to run gas lines in your house to all the appliances if they are none.
