Garage parking sensors

I have small garage and we just bought a new car. Garage is 206 inches total and the car is 197 inches.
Does anyone have one of these? Or something similar? And if so, do they work?
Or should I just do the old tennis ball from a rope?

Tennis ball on a string (or something similar) is pretty much guaranteed whether you have power or not, and is not dependent on how well the sensor works or if the sensor stops working. What ever you use will still be dependent on you stopping the vehicle.

I have just a laser thing that projects two beams when it senses motion. I aligned the two dots to bracket a body line on my truck when it’s parked. I have a little more free space than 9” though so it’s not critical.

I just drew a pencil mark on the side wall instead of the ol tennis ball. Either works well enough to stop within 9 inches of it.

I have a similar situation where the garage isn't much larger than the car. Once I was creeping into the garage and felt resistance, car didn't want to go any further. I didn't think I was touching the wall but figured I must be wrong. Turned out there was a thick door mat I hadn't seen on the floor and the front tire was against it. The car was less than 2 inches from the wall, nearly perfect so I left the floor mat there and use it as a wheel bumper.

I hung a Christmas package bow instead of tennis ball. Doesn't hurt to run into it face first at full gallop.

Huh. Never considered wheel bumpers. Considering my wife will be parking this most of the time, wheel bumpers seem like the more effective thing here.

I use concrete parking blocks. About 250+ pounds so they don't move.

Are you doing suicides in your garage? Who runs around full speed in their garage?

I have that exact sensor/light and it works fine. You can calibrate it to allow you to park closer/further before the red light comes on.

Back in?
My house has a porte cochere and two 2-car garages face each other.
It is much easier to back into the space for me plus I can see when I get close to the back wall with the camera.

what new car doesn't come with 360 degree cameras and proximity sensors these days?
We have a 2018 and its impossible to hit the back of the garage or anything else.

Kia Telluride S

It has proximity sensors, but they go off after like a foot and we need to get within 6 inches to the wall
I'm too cheap to buy the SX
