I have a 4 year old house with a lift master garage opener linked up to the MyQ app. I sometimes have issues with the app but yesterday I hit the open button on the app, and nothing ever happened. Just chalked it up to a bug in the app again. I then used my garage clicker and everything worked well.

Fast forward to this morning and my garage door is wide open. I check the app and it was opened at 2:14 AM. Exactly 11 hours after I had tried on the app.

Looking this problem on Google, it could be a variety of things such as faulty motor, exposed wires, etc.

Anybody else experience anything like this and what next steps are to move forward? Really don’t want to deal with an untrustworthy garage opener randomly opening when I’m not aware or around

My old Chamberlain was acting real wonky like this and I couldn't figure it out. I guess it ended up being the control board. I replaced the whole thing. Wasnt terribly expensive. I had wasted much time trying to fix it.

I have your exact setup, but have never experienced a delayed opening.
Not that I knew of

I have a crazy situation going on with my Lift Master right now. Brand new. In the morning when I leave for work (5am) neither of the car remotes will close the door. I can get out and use the key pad on the outside of the garage and it works. When I get home in the afternoon, the car remotes work

4 days in a row

Speaking of garage doors, mine wouldn't close last night. I would hit the button on the wall and it would start and immediately stop, and the light on the unit would start to flash.

I checked the sensors at the bottom to see if they were misaligned and they lights were not on. I guess this means I need to replace my sensors?

Are your sensors in direct sunlight? If so that can cause issues. I had to make a “shade” for them to work properly on sunny days.

No they are mostly in the shade I think.

Could mean your door is binding. If the opener senses a certain amount of pressure, it will kick off. A lot of them have a adjustment for how much pressure it will take

Also, you may have to readust the travel on your door. That could also do it

Got home and was going replace my sensors, but the lights came back on. Figured out that the wire going into the sensor is loose. It’s only a matter of time before I’ll need to replace them I guess.

About 15 years ago I bought an awesome wireless 2-camera security system with sound from Costco. Fantastic deal at $99.
Had to return it due to the wireless signal from the camera making my garage door clicker inop.

Now I hear blindspot monitoring/parking sensors/lane assist on newer vehicles messes with some models of radar detectors.

I have a Passport Radar/Laser detector. It monitors X/K/Ka bands. It goes off with a K band (constant on radar) warning when I am around these newer cars in traffic, or I pass, or get passed on the interstate by one. The K band goes off if I have the detector on when I pull into a parking lot where the store has automatic doors. I have had several detectors do this with automatic doors over the years, and also with any alarm systems that utilize motion detectors that operate on the radar band.
