Entergy Auditing/Rebate Programs

Has anyone used Entergy's energy auditing system in the Baton Rouge area? Their website just says to call for more info, and I was curious if it's worth it.
Our AC system is relatively new and we just replaced our windows recently, but we could probably use some better attic insulation.

I did the program with CLECO and it was definitely worth it. Totally free. A team of guys came and brought boxes of LED bulbs (I had already upgraded all my lights, but now I'm set for years
). They replaced some weather stripping on some doors. Went up in the attic and tested ducts for leaks, applied some mastic in some spots as needed. Think they offered some faucet aerators too.
I was shocked at how much they did considering it was free. But because they were so thorough, make sure you block off enough time to meet them. I only took an hour off of work to meet them and had no idea they were going to do as many things as they did.

Is there some sort of income threshold you have to be below?

No idea - their website gives zero information beyond what's below. I don't want to deal with the hassle if it's worthless though, so I wanted to see what other people have experienced first.

Not sure if it’s the same program or not, but I signed up for a similar program with Entergy where they send you small rebates - around $50/year or so if you sign up. Problem was they have access to your thermostat and set the temperature remotely during high energy event days. For instance, during a particularly hot day they would override my thermostat and raise the temperature to 80 degrees to save energy. Canceled the program as soon as that happened.

I called Entergy Solutions yesterday.
They called back this morning.
They asked a few questions about my home before setting an appt for an energy auditor to come out the first week of Oct.

Update the thread after they come out if you remember

I will, if I remember to.

I have Demco. Do they offer any similar programs?
Posted on 8/24/23 at 2:14 pm to thatoneguy
We did it through CLECO. They came out and replaced all our old recessed bulbs with LED, replaced all weather stripping around the doors and added a zip around insulation jacket to our pull down attic to help with stopping draft.

*Update*
The energy auditor from Entergy Solutions came to my home yesterday.
He was a very professional young man.
The process took about 90 minutes.
He inspected each room, all windows and doors, the attic and HVAC system.
He offered to replace all bulbs with LED bulbs.
We only had one room with older ones, but for anyone with many old bulbs, this could be very helpful.
We replaced all of our windows two years ago, but he mentioned that if we had single paned windows, they would have weatherproofed and sealed them.
He gave us 'Smart" power strips to prevent energy leaking when electronic devices are turned off.
They installed a smart thermostat which, if I understand correctly, makes it a two-stage system for removing humidity.
Our audit is complete, so the results will be given to a contractor for completion.
That is the exciting part for me.
Now, someone will come and install weatherstripping and seal our doors.
Front, garage, back and sliding glass doors.
They will also put new insulation into the entire attic.
I asked which type, traditional or blown in, and he said that will be determined by the contractor.
Either way, I'm pumped to be receiving this boon.
I have been thinking of replacing my insulation all summer but didn't get to having anyone come do it.
I have to remove everything from up there, but whatever, that is a small inconvenience.
That is about it.
I just figured some of y'all would like to hear about how the program works.

Call and leave your info.
Tell them you are interested in having an energy audit done on your home.
They will call back and get your info.
Then, they will set up an appt for someone to come out.
NB4: "Nothing is free, I am paying for your insulation with my tax dollars.
Blah, blah, blah..."
I have never taken a penny of stimulus, TARP, FEMA or anything else.
I'm not losing sleep about doing this.

So they’re paying for the insulation???
Also the smart thermostat .. idk if I want these. I don’t want them or anyone to be able to turn it up/down/lock it.

Just keep a $10 conventional thermostat in the closet for such an occasion.

100% this. Keep an analog as a backup in case the thermostat can be locked out.
I'll have to call Entergy about getting an audit too. Thanks for the info!

This is a customer pay program. 1.5% is added to the bill of all Entergy customers. That money pays for the entire program. No handouts, no TARP, no grants. If you don’t take advantage of it, you just pay for nothing.

Sorry DEMCO is lazy. I have been trying to get them to implement an EE program for 3 years.
