DeWalt 20V Outdoor Lawn Tools - Any Good?

My 2-stroke weedeater crapped out on me and I was looking at getting the DeWalt battery powered weed eater and blower. I already have plenty of 20V batteries and was thinking about getting the tools only.
Or should I spring for the 60V model?

Kind of depends on how much yard you’re cutting. My 20v dewalt weed eater is great.

Including edging with the weedeater, probably 30 min of runtime...mainly grass around flower beds/trees.

You should be good then. The larger XR batteries are heads above the ones that come with the tools in terms of runtime. You can catch them on sale, rarely, for about $90 for two at Home Depot. Side note, the dewalt 20 v blower is great as well.

I’ve got a few of the 20v XR batteries from other tool purchases.

I had one and after about 2 months of use it started losing power around the head area and didn't work as well. The main electronics are in the head of the weed eater and the theory is the dust and dirt eventually caused damage to the electronics. After searching online it seemed to be a common problem with them.

I have the 60v weedeater and 20v hedge trimmers and blower. Have used the weadeater and blower the most and no complaints. Went with the 60v as I already had a handful of the flexvolt batteries after catching them on sale last year.

I have the 20v blower and hedge trimmer. The blower has been great. Haven’t used the hedge trimmer yet.

My wife has one and likes it, had it about 2 years, I like I dont have to start her weed eater anymore.

Seems like the cordless yard tools have really turned the corner recently, the lithium batteries make a huge difference.
I have Ryobi versions blower and weedeater, picked up a few months ago. Based on how they are thus far, I won't be going back to gas or corded. I have both Dewalt and Ryobi cordless tools (not yard stuff), the Dewalt seems a little better, the Ryobi is cheaper and usable.
I'm going to guess the Dewalt blower and trimmer are about the same; pricier but a little nicer.
