What I expect to spend on a shed around 12x14’? Looking to clear up some garage space. Has to be shingled per dumbass HOA btw.

or buy one off the shelf (Morgan or similar)

Just bought a house that had a 12x12 concrete slab. Spent close to $500 on wood, playwood, nails, shingles, and tar paper. Had all the tools I needed, and I chose to lap the shed with fence boards to enclose it.

Did you build it up off the ground or on a slab?

I got a 10x14 tuff built shed for $2800 because I didn’t have the motivation to build it but materials would have run me $1500-1700.

I built this one myself. It's 10x14, but I doubt 12x14 would have differed much at all. I'm probably $4500 deep in it, but it's has features I wanted that are beyond the normal shed. The goal was to empty out my boat port to free it up as a workshop and move my lawn stuff out into the yard.

I wanted a roll up door for my mower. It is on a slab. It has a full coating of Grace water & ice below the felt with shingles that match my house. The window's were an added expense, although not very expensive. There is n't a square inch of wood exposed on it. All of the trim is Hardie and PVC including the soffit.

The Hardie siding and trim was probably $700.
The windows were $308 total
The two doors were just under $500

Damn that came out great! I need one big enough for mower, golf cart, and plenty shelving to empty some stuff out of the garage.

I lined the inside with shelving. That big front window is where the mower gets parked. It's a goddamn mess at the moment as I gutted my house with a ton of kids stuff to donate and then the covid nonsense hit (it was a work donate initiative)

I keep my gravely mower, push mower, tiller and such in there. I'll tidy up and snap a few non-embarrassing pics.

Thanks. It lacks AC otherwise I'd live in there to hide from the kids. I built it to match the office we built for my wife (and now myself) from Icreatable Sheds. Shed Plans

Ignore the toys spilled out everywhere. The little buttholes found the donate pile. "OUR TOYS!!!! WE STILL PLAY WITH THESE!" (they don't)

I'm still building shelves between the studs to maximize my space usage. YOu can never have too many small shelves or hooks to hang random shite. Even between the big shelves and the paint shelves, I have 4 hooks and fit 4 oversized folding chairs tucked neatly out of the way. I also bought two expired epoxy floor kits. Not perfect, but looks better than my semi-rough concrete job.

I've built two things now. The office (12x16 similar style, but that one is fully finished with AC, drywall, nice flooring..etc) and now this shed. Each time I finished, I swore that was it...no more building buildings. The slab was the worst. I dug the entire thing with the help of my little tiller, and my wife and I used the georgia buggy and finished the slab by hand. That's a lot of hard labor in a short time for 2 people with little experience.
