With no kids around anymore, the headache of erecting, watering, trimming, disposal, and dropping $100+ on a natural just doesn't seem worthwhile any more. The scent is much of the charm and would be missed.

$400 and (way) up seems to be where 7.5' artificial becomes lifelike. Thoughts on where 'diminishing returns' applies, such as number of tips and lights?

You should have bought a nice fake one right after Christmas last year. Sales are stupid cheap.

I bought a big one on Amazon last year because it was on sale for $250 normally $500. 9’ tall and about 3’ wide. It looked so nice and high quality online but when it came in, it looked cheap as shite.

I tried returning it but Amazon wanted me to pay $170 shipping, so obviously I told them that wasn’t happening because it was purchased as a prime purchase. They told me not to worry about it and keep it. I got a refund and was able to keep the tree.

So now I’m like why the hell not, let’s decorate this bitch. We decorated it and it looked ten times better. We got a really nice tree accidentally for free .

Check Costco, they never have them for long, but they tend to have nice well lit trees for a decent price.

You've got to take the time to spread out all the limbs to fluff it up.

My wife bought a 10foot tallish one from King of Christmas.

That thing is an absolute bitch to get in and out of the attic. It has four sections, the bottom two are huge.

But I love nit having a real one, it will pay for itself in 5-6 years. The 10-11 foot live ones were like 280-300 bucks if I remember right

This is the way to do it….you can get one for literally 80 - 90% off normal price.

I think I have 4 in my attic currently.

10 ft and 3 7 footers.

Only one will be decorated.. I would love to get rid of some of them.

Bit the bullet 2 years ago. My wife never wanted a fake tree but after 40+ years of marriage, I finally convinced her to get one. She was spending close to $350 each year for live ones so the ROI was quick.

She wanted to be able to look at different ones in person so ordering over the internet was not an option. Ended up purchasing a $1500 (retail) artificial from Billy Heroman's after Christmas for about half off.

Bought mine at Hobby Lobby years ago for half price. We keep it decorated and just saran wrap it when the seasons over and store it upstairs.
