Can we give it up for the humble wire cap?

This little invention no doubt has to be the best way way to connect electricity ever.

Consider that virtually all alternatives out there involve a more complex or permanent connection; the ease and simplicity of adjusting wiring using nothing but a plastic cap you twist about 10x is pure genius.

My wife likes to swap fixtures as much as she likes to move furniture around so I would not be able to keep up with her demands if I had to solder or splice or 'crimp and heat shrink' every connection.

They are great! I'm getting ready to pull some ballasts out of fixtures for LED replacement.

I saw a video of proper use and it said not to twist the wires before, but to let the cap do it instead.

I give mine one twist first. And I strip it so one exposed piece is slightly longer, and line up the insulation on both. That little extra tip at the end helps a ton.

Good to use on a tube of silicone in a corking gun.
