VBW
Showing up bad right now. Hit it with Celsius at the end of April. Knocked it back good but now I have some new areas of growth. I know we are getting to temp issues.

What should I spray now? About an acre of mostly centipede. A little zoysia and Bermuda mixed in as well. But 90% centipede. I have MSM turf on hand. Is that good? Recommend something else?

You may have to hit Virginia Buttonweed more than once. Directions on multiple treatments are on the bottle.

Celsius was proven to be the most effective against it by a University study.

I hit my VBW with Celsius twice in April and just saw I had new VBW growth as I cut last night. The yard has been consistently wet with all this rain and that’s where it thrives. Gonna hit it once again in a week.

Either Celsius or MSM Turf, both are effective against VBW in this heat. Will stress the desirable lawn grass, but not kill it, if used at labeled rates for VBW. Add surfactant to the spray solution.

As mentioned, multiple applications is almost always required, at 3-4 week intervals, and if the VBW is mature (white flowers) it’s going to be more difficult to kill-control. You’ll have to be persistent with treatment through the remainder of summer-early fall - looking for new growth and spraying when you see it.

I believe the label says max temp 85 F but I’ve had an university weed control specialist tell me it can be safety used into the lows 90s and be OK. I have used it on hot days without issue but don’t exceed the max application labeled rate, and do expect some temporary yellowing and stunting of the surrounding turf grass.

I try to spray it early morning or late afternoon on 90 + F days.

plan on spot spraying bad areas every 2-3 weeks thru the summer.....only way I have found to win....
you cannot kill it, only control it.

I've said on here before, took me 3 yrs to get mine under control, I walked my yard almost everyday with a 1 gallon sprayer and hit it whenever I saw it
I hardly ever see it any more, but it gets hit when it rears it's ugly head

I hit mine a few weeks ago with a combo of MSM Turf and 24D. Looks to be working very well despite me not using a surfactant. Waiting for any new signs for round 2.

What is the label rate for MSM for this time of year. Per acre.
