Sounds like what has been going on in Old Metairie for years now. Person buys a property with an old 50's style bungalow, tears it down and replaces it with a McMansion that is so close to the property lines that you'd have trouble pushing a wheelbarrow between the house and fence.

And forget about a front and back yard.....

You bought your lot. Not your lot and 5-ft. of your neighbors.

Is the dozer just going to make one pass to get in and out or will he be driving back and forth on the property? 200ft is a decent little stretch.

Just one pass in and one pass out

It was signed and scanned over.

do you even have a liability policy? and you're wondering why the neighbor has a problem with equipment and labor stepping foot on his property.

Can't get a construction loan without one so take a guess

maybe whatever it is could have been done before but would have required more work around it since it was done early. so for constructability reasons they talked to the neighbor and made arrangements for it to be done at this point in the schedule only to be bamboozled by the neighbor.

say you wanted to put a pool in the back yard but would have no access on your property once your house was complete. if you build it initially then build the house around it, you have to protect the pool during construciton. but if you do it at the end, you can just build it and be done.

I'd do it. Then again, I love pissing off people who get worked up over petty bullshite.
