Started on a shed today and accidentally cut the first floor joint 1/16 of an inch short.
Should I scrap it and cut another 2x6 or just go with it?

Thanks!
Didn’t think it would matter so that’s what I did. Now I can stop worrying about it. lol
I hate wasting wood and I wouldn’t be using 2x6’s anywhere else.

I;d roll with it and wouldn’t give it a second thought. You would be suprised at some of the bullshite that building contractors do!

If you are that much of a perfectionist, I don’t know whether you will ever finish!

I guess I didn’t realize I was.
Even after I squared the subfloor, I still went back and measured it 3 times. lol

Are you using hangers (i.e. Simpson strong tie) for the joists? If so, you can get away with a short cut joist.

Dude, you're not building a fricking piece of furniture, you are framing a shed.

There's time for perfection and there's time for roll with it, so don't be anal and roll with it.

Framing to an 1/8th of inch is pretty common. Dimensional lumber is not milled to an 1/8th of an inch.....

I'd roll with it. There ain't a contractor out there that builds to 1/16" tolerances

I built a shed/chicken coop, 8x16. It is 1/4" out of square.

It bothered me for weeks, then I remembered chickens will shite in it and I'm over it.

I'd be one happy SOB if all my cuts were within 1/16" of what I wanted.
