Big arse fans

I am building a house and am having a 2 car carport/ entertaining area around the back. I am thinking about one big fan something like the “Big arse Fan” anyone have one or have any other options? First of all I want something to move air. Second of all I like the look of one big fan other than many small fans. I also want something that will last.

Those things move A LOT of air. It might be overkill for a carport

I have two minka airs from the rec of this board for my outdoor area and they work great.
This is the specific model i have in case you want to take a look.

I have this Home Depot Fan . Have had it for about a year now. Makes it feel like a breeze is constantly blowing through the porch.

Yeah they work great and now have a wide variety of fans from heavy duty to light commercial. They are great fans and move a ton of air. I don't think we have ever turned the one in our warehouse up to 100%, it normally only operates at 60%.
Depending on the size of your space I would look into the attached. LINK you can get lights and other bells and whistles on it.

Have you considered large ceiling fans? Those big fans on the ground can be loud as hell, I don't know about all of them or that one specifically. But I've been in warehouses where you can hardly talk or hear when remotely close to the fans. You can get some large bladed ceiling fans that I would think would do everything you'd need plus they are generally quiet.
ETA: Nevermind, I see most here are talking about ceiling fans.

I have the Haiku (bigass fans indoor product line) in my living room. It's an amazing piece of engineering. Way overkill, but I bought it because there is no comparison looks wise. Would buy again......

When we have these specified we value engineer and get the Big Air Fans. They are in the $500/per range.

Have them on my patio outside, move a ton of air and have a lifetime warranty. Sitting under one right now drinking a beer actually

You ever get beat up by the architect for doing this? Just interested because they seem very brand loyal in my area.

If they are out of touch with the budget of the project, screw the architects brand loyalty. Sometimes you just need to value engineer and if I can match style and performance for 1/6 of the price, an overpriced brand is the first thing getting cut

We are developer/builders so no. It’s all about the cost/bottom line.
It’s great being a “builder” rather than a “contractor”. We have a General Contract with the owners (our developer and their partners) but we have control over the design and VE is never a problem.
I worked most of my career as a 3rd party GC and don’t think I could ever go back to that now.
