Half my front yard has Bermuda that looks great, the other half is St. Aug that looks like shite after last years drought. I’d like for the Bermuda to take over. What’s the best way to achieve this?

Cut as low as possible as often as possible and spoon feed it nitrogen every 2-4 weeks.
In full sun it will grow like nothing you’ve ever seen.

But you’ve got to mow it every 2-3 days, two being better than three.

Does anyone (including ronk, etc.) use PGR on their Bermuda? Results and/or thoughts?

If so, which and how often do you apply? I've read up on Primo Maxx and Podium (generic Primo Maxx).

Thanks!

I do, and its worth every second of time and cost.

TNEX - I start applying after its grown through the sand leveling, usually end of June, then end of July, and end of August.

Any thoughts on Primo Maxx and/or Podium?

yeah I want mine to stop fricking growing about halfway through May every year

What I did was combo seed/encourage bermuda portion.

If you know the right Bermuda type you can buy seed, then scalp the St. Aug section, pick up clippings, aerate, seed and water regularly for a couple weeks. (in addition to encouraging the already Bermuda portion to spread)

ETA:

I didn't fertilize actually, I did a soil test though to check and mixed compost and sand to level the yard. The Bermuda was a like nothing I've ever seen at first. Watered it regularly and kept it short and it took off.

I'm starting PGR soon. Ordered Pramaxis from here. Was about half price of normal for some reason.

Maybe in two years.

For me, it would be detailing my center console after driving through mud.
Or, day trading in the options market while having cc debt.

I’m still doing big weed control and trying to expand a stand of grass. I’m a few steps away.

Tnex is the standard. Doesn’t mean it’s better it’s just the most used. Primo is also way up there. 1/2 rate on the first round. Then every 30 days.

I think primo was .38 ounces per 1K SF. So half that?

Can I go full amount on 2nd round?

T-Nex

No smaller amounts than a gallon Ive found, so it would work best if you do a group buy with some other lawn nuts.

If I didn’t have friends and neighbors that reel mowed I would just do Primo.

Is MSM turd as affective as the cleggs cocktial?

I sprayed the cleggs cocktail about a month ago before I realized how much Bermuda I had. Just came back with some msm this evening since the weeds are so bad. Plan to start fertilizer after my next cut

That’s it. You can’t find people selling it by the ounce on Bermuda lawn dominators on Facebook

How do determine the type of Bermuda?

Would you use a surfactant with a PGR?

It also appears that it does NOT have to be watered in.

In general, hybrids have finer blades than common, which will grow just about anywhere with sun.

I couldn’t tell you the difference between 419 and Tahoma off the top of my head. And there are many other varieties based on cold tolerance, drought resistant, etc.

I’ve got Common and am happy to have it after years of shade and weeds
