quote:what did you get... there are like 300 dolphin models. i have pulled together a spread sheet and it seems a good bit of the models are the same with a minor feature different or color, with a different name for internet sales and instore sales.
. Dolphin is awesome.

Dolphin s300
Stays in the pool 24/7 and auto runs. Open the lid and pull the basket out. A quick empty and spraying of the filters and pop it back in.

Nautilus CC.
Correct. They do that to help drive sales for physical stores. Seems a bit dishonest but with good intentions.

Those with a robot... do you leave it in the pool or if not how often are you putting it in the pool?
Usually ends up being a few days in (too lazy or distracted to take it out) and a few days out (same thing).

This is timely. My booster bit the dust for the 4th time in five years and I’m considering dropping the Polaris and going with a Dolphin. Have any of you with the online models had to send them back for servicing (seems local dealers will only service the in store models)? I’ve seen some pretty awful reviews on this front, stating owner is responsible for return shipping, process is slow, Maytronics Customer Service is tough to reach, etc
Same question for those who bought a model from a brick and mortar. The in store models (let’s face it, the online and in store model thing is bullshite) I’ve priced are a good bit more expensive for essentially the same machine, but supposedly the store will handle servicing free of charge for any warranty issue...

Building a pool now and told the pool guy no Polaris. He wouldn’t sell me anything else so I told him I’d take care of it. They must make good money on those. He backed out some money and left me a hook up just in case I change my mind. Going with a dolphin

Polaris has no power cord is what I am saying - booster pump pushes water from the wall in the pool and water powers the Polaris. That Dolphin has a power cord you have to plug into the power pack that “should be placed no closer than 12’ from pool”. So, Dolphin has power cord running across your pool deck and Polaris does not.

I have had good luck with my Hayward Sharkvac. Over 5 years I have had a few small parts break. It is super easy to find a parts diagram and fix yourself.

I bought my Pentair Warrior SE from Marina Pool Spa & Patio for $699. I heard about them from troublefreepool. My first one died after a few days of use. I had to ship it back and they immediately shipped a replacement without any hassle. My other option was waiting for a local Pentair dealer to send a tech to my house. Pentair was willing to do it, but it was literally faster to ship the broken one and wait on the new one than to get a tech to my house to repair it.
Fyi, The Pentair Warrior SE is a branded Dolphin S200. It works great. I did let the sales person talked me out of the one with more control (Bluetooth I think). I wish I hadn't done that.

Anyone use the caddy? Worth the price of admission? I leave my Polaris in the pool most of the time, but with a Dolphin, I’d most likely wheel it in between use.

I have the Dolphin.
Rarely take it out of the pool, and it does a great job.

I use my kids former sandbox as the dolphin shelter. The plastic imitation rock with lid kind.

I didn't buy the caddy. I leave my robot in the pool unless we are swimming. My neighbor has nearby trees that dumps shite in the pool so my robot runs daily.

Dolphin Sigma. As others have said the Dolphin is great. Scrubs the walls really good too. Fine filter so picks up everything. Very easy to clean and store away. I’ll usually pull it out once a week or maybe every two weeks. It will clean 20K gallon pool completely in 2-3 hours.

I'm in my 3rd year with our pool. The builder installed a Polaris as part of the package, and I've been happy with it. We leave it in 24/7 except when swimming, and I like that I can clean the bag every so often and leave it alone.
My brother has a Dolphin and he has a long cord around his deck all the time, and it is heavy as shite to take out when he wants to swim.
I read all the rave reviews about Dolphin type cleaners, but from my experience with the Polaris I have no complaints. It runs 1 hour a day and gets 98% of the debris out of the pool and it is easy to remove/reinstall when needed.

Well guys i bit the bullet and got a Dolphin 30i on a fantastic deal. I have ran it for 3 days and it blows the Polaris out the water. after the first run the bottom of the pool was spotless. Did get all the oak tree catkins from the edges but damn the pool is clean. the basket is huge and i dont think it would ever get too full.
i asked if he is a weakling because mine isnt heavy at all 15-20 pounds. And after it is done i come up on the step and parks with its handle sitting right at the edge. I guess it is programed to do that.
Thinks i wish it had. This is mainly a software addition that they could do and isnt a feature that is required but It would bee nice if you could see the map of the pool it does to see all the areas it got or didnt get. but doing the 3 dimensionally would be difficult to relay onto an app. Other than that this thing is fantastic.
now i need to figure out what to do with the booster pump.

Another vote for Dolphin. It blows away the Polaris I used to have.

The 30i is one of the models I was considering. Mind sharing what you ended up getting it for? The two quotes I got were ~$1200.
