I have a Toyota Highlander SUV and I need new tires. I don’t want cheap tires. I am hoping to find really good tires for $300 or less per tire. Michelin Defender? I dunno. Also, I live in Zachary. Is there a good place around here to have them mounted?

Michelin Defenders and dont look back.

Discount Tire or Costco will have the best prices. Both will have free lifetime balance and rotations as well.

You pay for what you get. Michelin is the best around for normal street tires.

Michelin, no contest. Discount Tire in Denham is a little out of the way but you won't be waiting for hours and they won't upsell you a bunch of other services. You can sit in your car while they change the tires..last set I had done there I was in and out in 35 minutes.

Michelin Defenders on both my Toyotas (Tundra & Highlander). Good quality tires are cheaper in the long run - don’t beat your suspension to death over time; suspension repairs are more expensive than tires. (I’m paraphrasing the owner of the auto shop I use in BR who specializes in suspension work 40+ years, he’s seen it all - he only sells Michelin tires).

Article he wrote for his shop’s website Can You Afford Cheap Tires?

Mopar( any dodge /jeep...) dealerships running buy 3 get the 4th for a dollar thru the end of Novemeber. You can check prices on Mopar website and they don't jack the prices up for the sale(compare them with the prices at Discount Tires). I've done this twice. Legit best deal for tires. They do this a couple times a year. Installation is $80, and they throw in 2 year road hazard.

Michelins are the best I have had in 40 years of driving.

Continental and Bridgestone distant seconds.

Yep but others are closing the gap

While true people need to know the difference in Costco's lifetime rotate/balance when you buy a set; they set a minimum number of miles while Discount doesn't. Also Discount will price match.

Discount Tire: had never been until a blowout near one forced the issue. The employees were very nice, and they mounted four new ones within 45 minutes of arrival. They put the donut back in place and generally did a great job. Not sure if all locations are as good, but it was a rare treat to have good, competent service.

Didn't know that. Good info. I use discount tire because of their superb customer service and pricing.

Yes, put some on my truck, Discount Tire, that’s where I got them.
They have a blonde girl in Denham Springs store, don’t let her fool you, she can work those tires.

I'm sure there are bad locations and quick service isn't always possible as they get a ton of work at several of the locations near me. But overall very pleased with the level of service from the business. Repaired wife's tire for free, free rotations no matter what (you may have to wait though), and decent tire prices.

I just ordered a set of GT Radial Adventuro AT3 from Priority Tire for my z71. Great tire and price with free shipping.
